1 hour later…
18:31
@jippie you should "has fun"
sorry, chat servers went down for a while
o.
I feel bad today. With Stellaris and StellarisWare I'm back to copy&paste programming

1 hour later…
20:02
What is ${<} in a Makefile?
20:29
@jippie I thought $ was a comment, but as I have said before, I hate make files
@jippie sorry buddy
no problem, I gave up the convert-makfile-to-bash-attempt
compiling for Stellaris Launchpad is not trivial
but I managed to compile project0 from sources, but from an alternate directory (other than the stellarisware archive ...) and flash it into the controller
I had hoped to get UART working today, but ... no luck.
time for beer, almost 11PM here
@Kortuk
20:50
I write a quote, and you guys guess who wrote them:
"to test a T1 telephony system in early 80's"
21:43
@jippie not a huge lover of that beer actually.
m
@Kortuk I think it is better than the duchesse ;o)
@jippie disagree, but I really like sours
@jippie I dont mind that beer, it is just not as amazing as people seem to make it out to be
@jippie but it could be the beers that are making it here, they could be old or poorly stored.
@Kortuk which one are you typing about?
@jippie @Kortuk, for fun, read the reviews ranked from low to high.
@jippie St Bernardus
@ThePhoton hahaha
21:45
Although to be honest its not as fun on that beer as on a typical Yelp page
Troll posts
"this beer was much much darker in the glass that it was in the bottle" => I noticed that!
Olin is honestly was confused by a source with an arrow and thought it was voltage.
...
"Plenty of voltage sources are written with arrows too." wtf, where?
22:06
@ThePhoton yeah, someone needs to get over themselves a little. Just admit your brain failed you once. That stuff happens to me every now and then.
22:26
@Kortuk I learned to draw a source as a circle with a line completely through it.
when it is a voltage source the line was in the same direction as the terminasls
and if it is a current source the line would be perpendicular, but in the middle of the circle
not sure if I'm very clear, but 'my' voltage source looks quite a bit like a current source with an arrow
and since olin has some roots in germany, it may very well explain why he said that.
Diagrams & drawing packages I think any diagram is preferable to no diagram. To this extent, I think the package chosen should be one that is easiest to use as long as the o/p is reasonable and the program is free to use. THis will encourage people to draw a diag, when otherwise they would not bother. The examples of all output shown on project page all look perfectly OK to me.-- 16:59, 22 September 2005 (UTC) : if you think there is any programme at the moment it is worth to suggest, just do it in the main page signing your words. The main page is still a draft, so you can do it. The...
voltage source is shown on the same wiki page bit down.
time for bed
@jippie that might explain it
either way, it is the schematic editor we give people on the site, and it is a little crazy to tell others they are wrong then just say, "sorry i was mistaken"
@Kortuk yes, make it a question on the stack so I can get upvotes for this excellent explanation
@jippie hahaa
22:50
@Kortuk Hmmm ... I'm really off to bed now, I checked the new questions page and didn't see it yet. Can you hide the question until tomorrow so I can answer it? Others may get inspired by prematurely published research here in chat.
