so, I'm trying out something interesting as a light source
it actually produces remarkably clean and even light
a little bit blue, but easily color corrected
02:05
^ that one is showing something being held up between the light and the object to show how the shadows fall on it
the main downside is that it does produce multiple shadows, though it produces next to no heat, so a sheet could be used for further diffusion to fix that I think
^ this one is not color corrected yet
but it gives an idea of how the light works for lighting a person
but the interesting part of it is that each of the light modules is removable and they are battery powered
still not 100% sure if I'm going to keep it or not, but wanted to try it out. I need to shoot a video that I'm going to test it on and see how it goes

@AJH - Oh, those are all lighted with the construction worksite lamps?! Not bad at all, not even close as blue as I expected from your last line before the photos. Did you have any additional light thru a window or anything?
13:21
@EsaPaulasto that is at ten at night
The work light is the only source of light
Yeah it isn't super blue but it is that bluish led light
That comes from white leds
It is actually all from just 9 leds
But they have lenses in front of them that spread the light really evenly
It would be more of a problem when using multiple lights
If they don't match the temperature
13:47
That's cool, the slight bluishness be only a matter of a small adjustment in post, like you said, and the amount of light per $$ seems quite good.
Especially that running them for 10 hours in a small studio doesn't make you feel like being in a poorly warmed sauna :)
Perhaps they also have extension arms for the light units, so to make them three separate light sources, instead of one source with triple shadow. Three heads spread out and equipped with proper diffusers on them should work like nice evenly spread ambient light, at least in my imagination :D
Hmm.. strike that. My imagination is running too wild today :)

@EsaPaulasto well the problem is just if the lights don't match
because if, for example, I shot with them in daylight, I'd run in to problems where one light source has a significantly different white balance than another source
and that can be hard or impossible to fix

It looks more to me like someone didn't code the page correctly and cut off all but the left portion of the graphic.

Why is a mistake in web page design seemingly always interpreted by some as the "way all Americans look at the world?" Is it possible that some of the rest of the world just has a chip on their shoulder and is looking for the devil behind every bush?
19:26
@MichaelClark but Bush was the old president
;)
19:46
Oh, please don't get me wrong, I think that the United States of America is the greatest country in the world! And I'll let your fellow countrymen choose the map ;)
