@derobert when has an election phase ever lasted 7 days? AFAIR it's always been 7 days nomination, 4 days primary, 4 days final, with 8 days for the final phase if there is no primary. That's what it was for the first U&L election and that's what it is again this time.
@derobert they're announced as soon as someone from SE gets around to it
and in the meantime you can download the ballot file and run openstv-run-election MeekSTV filename.blt

@Gilles Oh really? I've never been around an election that didn't have a primary. Really confused my timing though.

@derobert There's a sidebar in the mod tools to the effect of if you're uncertain, ask in TL.

So. An hour left.
suspense!

Good luck to all the candidates!
Especially the ones I voted for ;P

@derobert Ya I figured out earlier this evening getting anything done on the computer was a lost cause. I've gotten a few things done away from it but find it impossible to concentrate for wanting to check back here ;-)

7:18 PM
Yes dammit, and I need to reply to my boss. Ex boss. Whatever, I need to reply :(

7:47 PM
When is the ballot file available?

@Sukminder When the election ends

8 minutes.

OK, thanks. Misread Gilles comment about "in the meantime" ;)

@Seth, where can we see the result?

I'll post it. Probably other people too

7:54 PM
@MichaelMrozek, thanks.

I was going to post it as well, so yeah ;)

So the current mods will be knowing the result and they will let know the general public, is it?

Anyone can download the ballot file and run it to find out the winners

We need one of those New Years ball drops :-)

Haven't you prepared open house?

7:59 PM
44 seconds

Election results: Winners are terdon and slm.

Hah, in a few short seconds, we'll know which editor is now off-topic :-P
@terdon @slm Congrats guys

2nd winner in EL&U's 2nd election...

Heh :)
Thank you all!
@derobert vim/vi questions are now and for ever more banned.
Suck it up.

I'm pretty ok with that

That's because the universe actually happens backward. Congrats terdon. You were my 5th choice ;)

8:07 PM
Now I wish I hadn't voted for you. Ahem.

That's why you're a mod too.
@goldilocks awww, thanks :)

Notice that 2 is 5 upside down.

Hah, dodged all that work :-P

@derobert You did that on purpose.

@terdon Mwahahaha

8:12 PM
@goldilocks Yes, and 2² × 17 × 317 + 666 = 22222

@Sukminder There must be deep meaning in that, except that those Unicode numbers don't spell anything out.

@Sukminder You have to watch for these things -- they are signposts from the future, when the everything began.
