@Caleb that's an excellent answer you posted to the meta Qs. You may have just cost cnst my vote.

@terdon Was it the vi-song that put you over the edge? I thought about quoting it inline for fuller effect, but decided a subliminal approach might be better ;-)

@Caleb Yes. It was the open mindedness you displayed by posting that song (which is clearly a thinly veiled hymn to emacs).

Can I change my vote after voting?
And is so, what are the restrictions if any?

@FaheemMitha You can change your 3 votes in the elections as much as you like until the bell rings, then you are done.

1:17 PM
@Caleb That's after like 8 days or 7 days from now, right? Also, once I have voted, the votes will be visible to me, right?
@Caleb I didn't quite understand you answer:
I CAN HAZ MODā“ TOOLZ? PLZ? <Ctrl>C<Ctrl>Qexit<Enter>quit<Enter>asdf!*)+]
Maybe an English translation?

@FaheemMitha 7 days left, yes. And when you vote, your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice will be shown in the election sidebar. You can switch them up (or even un-vote) by continuing to hit vote buttons next to candidates. Nothing will be locked in and counted until the election is over.

@Caleb Ok, good to know.
Note: asdf is a Common Lisp tool/library/thingy, but you probably didn't mean to refer to it.

@FaheemMitha I took the question as humorous and responded in kind. According to by nomination I am one of the first group (because I added a vim save/exit command to the end of my post). As long as the question was making fun of me for "not knowing how to use my editor" I figured I would play it up. The codes there are the sort of thing somebody who doesn't know how to use vim might try to exit out of it. The first part is just a parody based on the previous question and the internet meme.

@Caleb Ah. I guess your humor is just too sophisticated fo me. :-)
Oh, I see asdf are adjacent letters on the query keyboard.

Q: How can we make First Posts review actually useful?

Shog9I'm about fed up with the First Posts review queue. Oh, it was a nice enough idea in theory: give folks a chance to welcome new users to the site, without the heavy constraints that folks complained about with Low Quality review. The problem is, the review system was designed around the idea ...

Finally posted my answer to the mod questions. Will revise (and read everyone else's) after lunch.
@Braiam FYI, it's on the site community bulletin

@derobert yeah, but sometimes people don't read it ;)

@derobert For a draft that's looking good.
Just missing @Braiam and cnst now for a full set.

@Caleb Glad to hear that. I need to go back and reread it, and everyone else's now...

@terdon you do not know how tempted I am to turn your "and I want brownie points for not linking to xkcd 378" into a link to a different xkcd strip.
I'm not sure which one, but I'd find one...

11:07 PM
@derobert I'm sure you would. And I'd laugh too.

IS ALIVE!
(cc @Caleb and anyone interested)

One more. Any bets as to whether he posts?

@Kevin I wouldn't hold my breath :)
Kevin, are there any mechanisms in place to facilitate communication between the mods?
Or do you guys just email each other?

@terdon most sites have a mod private chatroom
and there's an all-sites mod private chatroom as well

Ah, good.

@terdon Each site has a room just for the mods of that site, and there is the TL for all mods

Thanks
