9:22 PM
@Vogel612 I just emailed v0.2 of my order form (now runs on a Mac!), so I'll probably have some time to do this over the weekend

sounds great

@Mat'sMug just curious. How much % of your Excel project was modified to run on Mac?

not a lot
had to replace the Scripting.Dictionary with the VBTools dictionary
late-bind all Sage API & ADODB stuff (but that would've had to be done anyway)

does those run on Mac? Don't remember if they exported ADO for Mac

they don't

9:28 PM
oh ok so not germane for mac users, gotcha

and the reps aren't on the domain anyway
but the code needs to be in there still
form has 3 modes: [Development], [Maintenance], and [Order Entry]

what about the UI? last time I read, it was a PITA cos of different default sizes

looks ok-ish

Nonetheless, must have been lot of fun

looks much better on Windows, but good enough to work with on a Mac
yeah

Q: Trying to retrieve caption for current indexed form object in For Each loop

Lindy NewmanI'm writing a userform with about 15 checkboxes, and when the user clicks 'Submit' I want a single cell to populate with the caption of every box that was checked, each separated by line breaks as shown below. I've got a For Each loop that loops through all form controls, checks to see if they...

[rubberduck-vba/Rubberduck] build for commit d9b8155a on unknown branch: AppVeyor build failed
BUILD FAILURE!

In Code Explorer is there any way to toggle sheet visibility to xlSheetVeryHidden?

going out on the limb but I don't think that's CE's responsibility.
RD is a VBA add-in and thus is generally ignorant of Excel any host stuff.

9:37 PM
I keep forgetting about that.

@IvenBach the VBE's Project Explorer allows doing that?
(no, it doesn't)
F4 -> Properties

So anything Project Explorer can do Code Explorer should also, nothing more or less?

pretty much, yeah

earlier I opened an issue requesting ability to open Access forms from project explorer.

9:41 PM
@IvenBach uh, "nothing more".... not quite
but its scope should be well-defined nonetheless

what I didn't realize back then was that while it does uses the built-in command View Object, it wasn't really the same thing as CE's Open Designer

> @Vogel612 I don't think there is any existing consolidated command internationalization in the resx files, so I just changed the prefix from HotkeyDescription to CommandDescription. It might be a good idea to provide similar descriptions for commands which are not being bound to hotkeys at the moment (either by adding such a description or renaming an existing one). It seems to me that the resources related to commands are not organized too well.

Again, words...

View Object will indeed open the document in "design view" but if Access form was already open, it simply activates it without changing it to the design view.
so if we had wired that up to CE's Open Designer it would be a lie.

[rubberduck-vba/Rubberduck] build for commit b9fb5965 on unknown branch: AppVeyor build succeeded

@Mat'sMug What's the company you work for again?

it's on my linked in profile
:)
why?

OK.
Oh, I just want to check if their website is accessible and sue them if it isn't :P
Don't worry, I won't.

> I would like this PR to be labelled PR-Status: Review Requested

But literally, it's becoming a big thing, with a bunch of laws the EU and US have passed about accessible websites being a civil right.

9:46 PM
HI

Hi.

Is it possible for the creator of a pull request to add the label "Review Requested"?

@Kapol did you accept the GitHub invite?

yes

9:47 PM
but I don't think I am able to add labels or assign anyone to issues

hmm

when I checked how to assign myself to an issu
it seems that there should be a checkbox or something next to the issue

but that was before I sent the invite, no?

but I don't see one
after the invite
there are no checkboxes now

@Kapol Only Dev can do that.

9:49 PM
it's OK with me

@this can you set/change assignees?

Nope

damn

just having the ability to add that one specific label would be great

I hate GH permissions

9:49 PM
but I guess GH doesn't have such fine graining :)

No it does. It's just byzantine

and done

( ゚ヮ゚)/
\( ゚ヮ゚)/

lol

I think that's the first time in my life I used these weird Japanese faces
actually copied it from google

9:57 PM
By grayskull, i have the power!
MWAHAHAHAHA!

Do I have the power to delete Next again?
4

^

@Hosch250 nope

Mug is going to make sure people can self-assign themselves issues.

Good :)

10:00 PM
so, in the GH help link above, everything under "Write" is granted to everyone in both "Dev" and "Contributors" teams

And Dev has push privs, and Contributor doesn't?
Or...

basically "Dev" and "Contributor" are the same now

That's the whole reason we set that up different--so Contributor couldn't push.

(`∀´)Ψ

But fine by me.

10:01 PM
so... long story short: GH perms suck

^
there's "read-only", "write", or "admin"

Yeah, at least they are better than TFS privs.

I'm prepared to wager that GH enterprise has a better system

IOW "can't do shit", "god-like", and "something in-between"

In TFS, I can push to the release branch whenever I want. Except, I'm not supposed to.

10:02 PM
[next] is protected, nobody can push there

?
I can push there. I just can't delete it.

> Protect branches to disable force pushing, prevent branches from being deleted, and optionally require status checks before merging.
can't force-push

Right.
Because I pushed there the other week by accident without going through review.

tsk tsk

I know. My branch was pointed at upstream instead of origin.
I synced it, and Duga popped a message. I was like, "uh, ok..."

10:05 PM
so.. what's the use of being able to create multiple teams if all you ever get is 3 carved-in-stone access levels?

You get them when you pay: github.com/pricing

this explains that

> Hey where and how did you get the VBE to honor a dark theme??!!!!?! This is the first time I see an actually dark VBE (and I love it!!)
> Did you change some of the default windows colors to achieve this effect?
> Did you change some of the default windows colors to achieve this effect?

This is something I would like myself.

10:23 PM
I've never been able to find examples anywhere of a dark VBE.

I think it's a dark Windows actually
and indeed, RD should honor it
we look silly now
damn

Office 2016 perhaps?

I don't think so

they do have office themes yeah

I think it's a Windows thing
hmm

10:25 PM
but I don't think it works for VBE, IDK. I'm still using 2010 as my main Office version

@this Explain me more of this, please.

well in 2013? 2016 they shipped with 3 themes
light, blue, dark

@this the dark office theme leaves the VBE bright-white, only the toolbars are affected

2013 has White, Light Grey, Dark Grey.

yeah, that's what I thought

10:26 PM
must be a Windows thing
it has to be

yeah,

I never tweak those

I used to use a tool for inverting the colors/hues
because of that

IIRC to get dark theme for VBE you had to change windows itself. Not something I wanted to do for everything.

yeah, it's better to install a tool instead

10:27 PM
Either case, it still looks nice.

but in my caes, the tool was OK, nowhere as clean as that

@this what tool do you use?

used to use nocturne... that's on Mac
but in Windows there are better tools.
look at the smart inversion
that's something similar when you invert the colors and then invert the hues
not very pretty but useful if the sight is bad

> I had to change all default colors in Windows with:
http://www.xptsp.com/board/index.php?topic=23.0
and the theme is https://yorgash.deviantart.com/art/Steam-VS-for-Windows-7-449032822
It is quite drastic change but dark theme + [f.lux](https://justgetflux.com/) is must for my eyes b/c often work all the night.

I looked at web page color inverters a couple years ago. None worked properly in the sense that any new tab or page would be default white for a flash and then would go dark. Not pleasant at all.

10:34 PM
TTQW

yeah, i wouldn't want to use a tool in an application or in a window
TBH, it annoys me if I see dark and light theme together
woah that link links to a malicious site? At least Chrome sez so.

the xptsp.com site?

yes

I like the look of what it can do. But that site did set off a vibe for me.

yeah,

10:50 PM

Anyone, how would one get the token stream from the module state? Seems to me the parser has it but it doesn't expose it?

11:42 PM
@this it's encapsulated.. only the rewriters needed it
..you can get it from the rewriter
Or expose it through modulestate

RD Unit Test: Run selected test bites me for not being there.

împlement it :)

:+1: Getting PersonalMacroWorkbook under unit tests.
Duck check: If a class doesn't hold state is it still preferable to create an instance of it for every test? I've not grokd well enough how to pull of static in Excel.
