Sometimes you need a genius, and to give them space, but effective teams are hard to build around them. That said, I've worked with people that are widely regarded as "lovely but inept" where the team has to carry the load.

@ThunderFrame LOL.
We have one of those.
The devs would like him to shift to PM; we think he'd be better in that role.

Peter's principle at work, eh?
FWIW, good PMs are much harder to find than devs.

10:40 PM
@Vogel612 ‘he who fails and openly admits it’ should be my title. I just try to learn from it and not make it again.
@Vogel612 don’t think I’ll ever have to worry about that. Smarter person about ‘FooBar’ topic, maybe.

You might be surprised, @IvenBach.
.......
EF......
It's renaming tables instead of doing a drop/create.

Pretty much why we don't do EF any more.

True, two of the three columns are the same, but the data in one of the columns gets moved over.

Too much voodoo black magic for my taste.

Fortunately, we do explicit migrations.
So, I can rewrite them.
First time this has happened. I've had to rewrite it to rename instead of drop/create before, but...

10:44 PM
EF?

Last I read they weren't going to do renames by default...

@IvenBach Keep in mind that I have interviewed clowns who hold multiple Microsoft certifications and even has a master degree and was clueless on basic design stuff.
The worst are those who go all "I am TEH EXP3RT HAX0R! AWE BEFORE MY OBVIOUS SUPERIORITY!". Yawn.
@IvenBach EF => Entity Erroneous Framework. :p

Think I have it.
I was doing a delete - add. I need to do the add first.
TTQW.
I've not seen Mat today. Must be really busy or really sick or on vacation.
(Those aren't exclusive options.)

@this I does teh beest I canz with wuts I gots. I error does makes but lurnz frum dem.
Now that I have people helping to mentor me with writing better software my results have a better outlook.

sounds like you had a good day, Hosch. See ya.

10:51 PM
Eh, sort of.
Unless you are being sarcastic :P

at least you solved it, so that's good thing.

Well, no, didn't work.

no wasn't- i count a day where a problem is solved as a good.
ooooh, bummer
sorry

NP.
One of the other guys is going to take a look. I'm probably missing something--I usually am.
I thought it might be something to do with the fluent API thing we are using (and trying to move away from), but I'm not seeing it...

11:02 PM
AppVeyor is the continuous integration system for RD? I think I've understood enough to appreciate it.

11:55 PM
@Hosch250 I now better grok the use of Command and the implementation of INotifyPropertyChanged.
