@SlowLearner - In RD's case, there's an attribution on the git landing page. ;-) In general, they might do searches for key sections of code or identifier names. In this specific case, it very well might be by demonstrating that the derived code has the same freak'n bug.
Sure, but do we know that the code in question (CodeProject?) was not already in the public domain or published under a different license? I'm assuming you guys know the answer, but I curious how one would go about checking.
I mean, that it was not borrowed from somewhere else...
@Comintern Note to self, don't strive for bug free code - might be my downfall
@SlowLearner If it is, that's their problem, not RD's. They asserted copy-write, so the prudent thing to do is assume that it is valid. The validity of the copy-write would certainly be a defence in litigation though.
> I adjusted the tab stops for all the refactoring dialogs. I don't think I'll bother adjusting all the resx values and figure out how to make the text boxes activate when a certain key as signified in the label for that box is pressed because we are going to replace all these with WPF dialogs for 2.1.
No, I wasn't around at all today. Came into the office to find a machine that would boot, but Windows wouldn't start. By the time support got there to look at it, it was about 9:30am.
around noon, they determined that the HD and RAM were dying.
They got me a new machine with a 64-bit image around 3:30 this afternoon. :(
in the meantime, I did confirm that Excel was still crashing on my 32-bit laptop. Open the XLSM, open the VBE, let it sit there for a while as I played on my phone, and BOOM! down she goes.
So now I'm curious, was it the author that asserted copyright or the website on which it was published? If I write an article and post it on a website forum type situation I most often really don't care about the copyright - I accept that I probably clicked on some T&Cs and assigned all to the website... All I'm saying is that the website probably won't pursue an infringement and the author might not care. That's NOT me saying RD doesn't need to worry...
I have a bizarre problem in a raw input window proc that I can't figure out for the life of me. Every time the Esc key is pressed, it's hitting an exception 0x80004005 (invalid handle) on the first GetRawInputData call. It seems to only happen with the Esc key:
protected override void WndProc(r...
Bah, I'm sick of political fights. People are arguing over whether HC is worse than DT or the other way around. My position is that they are both unfit for office, so there is no need to argue about which I'd prefer.
