OMG IT WORKS
I just implemented readonly navigation properties in my Sage300 wrapper API! 
var myOrder = context.PurchaseOrderHeaders.SingleOrDefault(po => po.Number == "NETAPI99");
^^ myOrder.Details contains the detail rows!
aah, and now I got it to work without manual initialization 
    public virtual IList<PurchaseOrderDetail> Details { get; set; }
next step, implement insert
