I'm having a little issue
Basically, I have an app that takes stuff from a local unix socket
and sends it via websockets to the browser
then takes stuff from the browser via websockets, and pushes it to the same linux websocket
As you know, with each "connection", NodeJS creates a new instance of the application to serve to that client
Which means that the "connection" to the socket is recreated again
I'd like all instances of the application to use the same connection to the socket
In other words, is it possible to have one part of the application shared amongst all instances?
@Terry So, is that possible?
@Adnan I'm not sure why you are asking me actually. I don't have significant enough experience with node to help you.
Oh, hey, no pressure at all
If you have an idea, good.
If you don't, it's also good.
But is there a problem with the connection being recreated in each instance?
Yep. We're losing the state of the application
@TerryChia Actually, now that I told you about it, I think it's better to keep the state on the side of the socket. On each instance, the other side pushes the state to the socket, and the NodeJS app updates itself
Ahhh... stupid Adnan.
Thanks a lot, Terry.
@Adnan Heh, don't you usually have a rubber ducky for this? :P

I do, but I thought this issue needed more
Alright. Back to the DMZ->
