I wonder why GitHub seemingly stopped highlighting Haskell comments...

Nevermind. My advisor doesn't know what CPS is.

Q: Multilanguage convention to invoke debugger?

user340971Are there hopes that various programming languages will establish a convention where using .debug() leads to the same result instead of using breakpoint() in python3, debug() in javascript testcafe , debugger() javascript chrome ?

Unfortunately, I don't think this is a good question or a good match for langdev
12:06
@NewPosts relevant xkcd

13:24
@EldritchConundrum yeah
opinionated, and it's a tedious solution for no benefit
13:35
@Seggan Kotlin improved secondary constructor syntax when
not being able to do any logic before this() sucks
14:00
@Ginger you can make both constructors secondary or use a top level method
14:37
@Ginger I'm preparing to add Toasty's rooms to Sloshy's configuration until you can recover; any objections?
(sorry for off-topic, I'll be happy to start a separate room if you prefer)
15:14
@lyxal should we put that in a comment?
15:52
@lyxal fortunately, the charging one is actually solved now (tho by force of law lol)

@tripleee sounds good to me
I've been waiting on Stack to fix this for, uh, a month

1 hour later…

@tripleee I have added write access to the room

@DannyuNDos figures
saying CPS is the backbone of OOP is a stretch
CPS is the backbone of javascript

public struct Set<T> where
    T : IEquatable<T>, IComparable<T>
{
    private class Node
    {
        public T root;
        public Set<T> leftTree;
        public Set<T> rightTree;
        public bool isBlack;
        public Node(T root, Set<T> leftTree, Set<T> rightTree, bool isBlack)
        {
            this.root = root;
            this.leftTree = leftTree;
            this.rightTree = rightTree;
            this.isBlack = isBlack;
        }
    }
As an exercise, I'm implementing red-black tree in C#, and this is first few lines.
@NewPosts when should i bin this, when the question gets deleted?
also the xkcd is very relevant it's like the exact program
22:38
I would argue it doesn't need to be binned
Because even though it's closed as off topic, it's not spam, not egregiously off topic (like obviously unrelated to programming language design - think homework) and can serve as a helpful guide for future discernment of whether things are off topic
