Q: How to extract or unpack an .ab file (Android Backup file)

tony9099I am running an android 4.0.3 device, and I want to extract the back up file created by : adb backup -f ~/data.ab -noapk app.package.name The above line works inside the CMD (windows) and I am able to get the data.ab file inside the '~' directory. What I can't do is extact that file using CM...

@KaanAyhanoğulları it's fine to ask in chat, that's what it is for ;)
unfortunately the app 'com.miui.notes' doesn't have the flag android:allowBackup="true" in its manifest. Therefore only phone clone apps can access the app data.

on linux / WSL2 the backup.ab ZLIB DEFLATE can be extracted without Java or OpenSSL, if you skip the encryption password.

@alecxs I got backup.ab from com.miui.notes but it is 1kb. So is this empty?
