The C4 looks like it may end with AD ("after dinner starts"), and there are certainly words for "Group" that end in AD (tetrad, heptad, etc.), but "octad" has five letters, and I don't see any way to make "(of) eight" a part of any other -ad word. Other ideas: "Group of eight" can clue DOLLAR or PIECES; or maybe "Group of eight" clue B (for byte) as part of the wordplay. I hope something I've written helps someone here; it sure ain't helping me.
