Q: What is your best friend Jake trying to tell you in his email?

Arnav BorborahYou and your best friend Jake always walk two miles to school together every day. On one particular day, when you leave for school, you realize that your friend isn't there. Thinking that he's probably sick or something, you carry on as if nothing happened. When you return home a few hours later...

Q: How can you be certain that you do not have down-syndrome?

Lorry Laurence mcLarryWhen I worked at McDonald's there was an employee there with severe down-syndrome. We were told that she did not know that she had down-syndrome because of how severe her down-syndrome was. If Down-syndrome prevents people from knowing whether or not they have down-syndrome, then what is your lo...

Q: Can you find the value of the question mark$\color{red}?$

user477343The following is a puzzle that I have created. I have done this for the first time so you people can enjoy, and so I hope you do. Puzzle: Find the value of the question mark $\color{red}?$. I am aware that there may be many different answers $-$ or even infinitely many $-$ but the first ...

@Sphinx and with the edit, now the real fun begins - find the patterns which generate the excluded values :)

CHIME is correct.

I know it has :P it... just still feels weird to me for some reason, maybe just me

I got used to one=A, but A=I is weird
I had CH and ME actually

because A⇄1⇄I is how it works and we usually turn our noses up, rightly, at double indirection. But this one seems established, so what the heck

Q: See the waterboys

Tom Firsts, grown-up breaks, coiling equinoxes hatching. Holidays burning, common camping, beaches bright. A butternut's harvest-time, bumblebees come falling. Following chill, frozen ice-carpets evoke Christmas.

Q: Who can solve this cipher?

WilltechThe following cipher is moderately difficult but not impossible. It is (IMO) probably easily solvable for an experienced professional code breaker. 53819 08278 95739 07473 82867 47390 72908 67882 82867 67390 89788 47685 68478 69076 97708 09781 81898 97789 83788 18383 90707 38399 70747 28678 7449...

Q: Draw a hexagon that can’t be divided into two quadrilaterals by a single straight line.

MikeI’m kind of stumped. Logically if a hexagon has 6 sides and you split it and add one (the line) it will always result in two quadrilaterals. I may be off.

Q: Cryptic Crossword Clue - single clue

tomThis is a single cryptic crossword clue. I like crosswords, but I am not good at the cryptic ones where several different part of the clue all lead to the same word. This is not a clue from a crossword, but rather a single clue I made up. This paragraph is not part of the puzzle. Small parent...

Anyone looking at the current C4?
I think maybe it's ASCE+NDA+NT (CASE anagrammed, somehow; "a" as anagrind?) + (NADA -a (current, amperes)? This is the fishiest section) + [N]ew sui[T] at last

3:54 PM
@EricTressler yes, but im terrible at them. so dont ask me for help :P

@Dragonrage me too

4:11 PM
both "a" as an anagrind and "a" for "current" are ... unacceptable, I believe

@JohnDvorak I know that current is typically "I", but I don't see why that should be preferred over "A"

other than it's the official symbol for the quantity?
> The conventional symbol for current is I, which originates from the French phrase intensité de courant, (current intensity).

I was looking for an example of "time" -> "s" or "length" -> "m", etc. I can't find one, so maybe you're right, but I could have sworn that the standard metric units for something were possible substitutions too

Swearing's not allowed :P

Q: Why do they have different ages?

maounkhanBoth of the guys are born on the same day, month, and year but they have different ages. One of them is 5 months, 12 days, and 11 years old and the other is 2 months, 17 days, and 11 years old. Why are there two different ages then?

4:32 PM
Since a recent clue's def. was "the very beginning", I wouldn't be surprised if the def. is actually "at last". I think I give up on this one.

Q: Are we allowed to offer prizes for solving puzzles?

F1KrazyI just logged onto the site and noticed this cipher puzzle. As an "incentive", the person who asked it has apparently hidden AU\$50 worth of Bitcoin inside the solution ($38.50 in US dollars, or just over £27). They've provided a link to its address in the blockchain, so I'm proceeding under the ...

How can I convince my colour blind friend that his two balls have different colours? still has not a single close vote for being too broad, lol. The puzzle does nothing whatsoever to direct a solver to a specific solution, just asks open endedly "how can I...", and has at least 4 - maybe 6 - answers other than the most obvious method (which itself appears, more or less, in 3 answers). If this doesn't qualify as Too Broad, not sure what does.
