Q: ASCII art troubles

ngnMy first puzzle. This paragraph is not part of it. Look only if you're 18+ and not of a sensitive disposition.

1:47 AM
If the C4 is &lit, I suspect that the def is "station" (an anchorman's workplace as opposed to his home), with "Almost home" being sta[-y].

2:52 AM
Then "anchorman at heart" -> t and "but not quite" -> ion? Sort of a stretch

Can anyone give me better ideas for what "anchorman at heart" is
I suspect it's the middle letters of some synonym of anchorman
But there aren't many synonyms for anchorman

Anchorman could be a playful name for a sailor (an earlier idea that didn't pan out for me)

How many distinct ways are there to connect the vertices of a regular polygon with lines connecting to egdes at a time? does not seem to me to be at all a puzzle, it looks like a pretty straightforward application of a pretty straightforward method. Am I missing something, or should this be closed as off topic for being a math problem?

Q: Riddle: What did they start?

kolshe It all started with a group of four. Their legacy inheritors compete round the clock for the annual prize. People say the lovely head has got style. Fluffy the pet can be found in the belly. Even the Riddle that shan't be spoken of, had been here. What did the four start? Hint 1: ...

^ VTC too easy
(or completely impossible, for those who happen not to have the relevant knowledge, but it's not terribly obscure)
Hint 2 should really be labelled "Answer".

People see puzzles with hints but they don't always get that the timeline is that those are usually edited in later

There's also no wordplay, so I'm retagging wordplay->knowledge.
(though perhaps trivia is more accurate than knowledge?)
