Thank you for reminding me of this, Randy (a friend of JAK and mine, and also an activist!):
And, yes, that's about Hiroshima and Nagasaki, but I really am crying my eyes dry from the bad news. And there's so much good music to reflect it. JAK is too weak at the moment to provide a song.
(And probably many of us enduring similar trauma right now. I'm sorry for that too.)
^this was your birthday card once, JAK. Now it might be your elegy.
Legend: The bee is JAK. The roses are sweet life. The rat is i. The violin is whom JAK requested to visit his death bed.
(The thing was sent almost a year earlier, but i didn't make a permanent copy until the date noted.)
Allegory!
At the time, JAK said that the bee should be nectaring the unfurled rose. He was right.
But, at the time, it only began with the nascent rose, and then i went geometric for balance. Ah art.
The geometric unfurled rose, by the way, is/was a puzzle. Figure it out.
JAK taught me to draw roses.
Ascii roses, that is.
JAK told the one of the left looked anemic, so i made a fuller version. It went around the world. Oh wow, i've been obliterated. I see all kinds of copies not none original.
For example this:
That's the rose i walked past every morning.

12:53 AM
And here's the latest version:
It can happen to you too. (That is NOT a copy, it's evolution of the original. Intermediate lifeforms seem have been scrubbed. Perhaps i should've signed them.)
