puzzling.stackexchange.com/questions/54584/… Deus shall we close? This seems way more maths than anything else, posted here on the scant hope it would turn out to have a clever solution more than because it's known to be a math puzzle.
"Note: ditch chasing leader or @Deusovi may not see this" is valid for RED. "@Deusovi may not see this with good eyes" is presumably valid for GREEN, but I'm not seeing it
@Rubio not the intent, no. To alleviate "too broad" concerns: I don't think "chasing leader" is an acceptable definition for BACK (it would have to be something like "he chases leader", and even then it would be a bit loose)
incidentally, I had a different solution for RED, but I see no reason to discard yours
I dunno, "scoring leader" I could see being "forward" without it being unfair or even particularly loose. (I don't know if there's any such construct that would give "back", but that's not because of the wordplay)
someone should maybe edit in the source. i really think the poster should be the one who does that (this may even be Meta worthy) since someone else fixing their plagiarism shouldn't make it ok, but others seem to be more tolerant than I
dunno. i didn't look. (I mean - I am sure we have something saying "don't plagiarise", but maybe not something that says the OP bears the responsibility to fix it - not editors)
well. that's unfortunate. we may want to revisit. Ideally we'd have something that spells out quite specifically that plagiarised content is NOT ok, if you don't attribute it yourself it will be deleted - and then start enforcing that, instead of leaning on people to go find where it came from. Someone saying "This is from <x>" when the OP didn't shouldn't be what saves it, it should be what dooms it, to me.
Personally I don't mind "or" as a linking word in the "alternatively, you can get the solution this way" sense. "chasing leader" is extraneous though IMO, but I don't mind too much considering how hard it is to get a twofer (just like how I don't mind slightly looser clues if they're &lit)
The outskirts are the outer districts of a town, so outskirts of Leningrad or some such would have been more natural, but it doesn't fit your surface, of course. Unpopulated land?
I was looking at the nice puzzle Find $n^{23}$ with the least multiplication. My first instinct for this would have been to find $n^{2^i}$ for each $i$ first and then multiply these together as necessary to get $n^{23}$. This basic algorithm will always work for any integer power of $n$, since we...
Assume that you are a professional hunter, roaming in a thick forest about which you have got some idea, though not a thorough one. For example you remember very well-known land marks like a steep hill and a ever-flowing river which are located distantly apart. You also vaguely remember that ther...
@Rubio Please note that plagiarism means passing someone else's work off as your own, which this puzzle is definitely not doing. Not citing their exact source isn't the same as saying they made it themselves. — Rand al'Thor22 secs ago
Just want to stress this ^
If someone says they found/were given a puzzle, without saying exactly where, that's not plagiarism.
Right, but we don't know that that question is from an ongoing contest. (It may be, but there's nothing in the question or its comments to suggest so.)
@Randal'Thor I'm aware that citing is more than that. I'm just saying for the purposes of this site that "citing" is showing in someway that you are not the creator.
This game can be also played here: https://www.brainzilla.com/word-games/broken-words/cryptic/1/
Use the following chunks to create words related to a specific theme. The theme name itself is also hidden within those words.

@Randal'Thor commented on the puzzle. Not citing the source but making it obvious it's not yours does indeed avoid being plagiarism but the other point there is that we don't take puzzles from contests etc and, for those two reasons combined, do expect the source to be properly stated, I think. It's a catch-all copypasta that probably needs refinement so thanks for the correction
That said, we do want people to provide sources for 3 reasons. One, to be safe on the plagiarism front, even if just out of an abundance of caution as here; two, to demonstrate it's not a contest or test or whatever; and three, to give helpful context that may not have been included in the posting here.
@Rubio If you have a nice list of stock comments, I wonder if they might be worth turning into a meta post? Most comments of this type don't really need a diamond next to them, and it could be a great community resource for reviewers.
@Rubio Oh yes, I agree it's always good to have sources. Just wanted to make sure you aren't deleting things for plagiarism when they're not actually plagiarism :-)
@Randal'Thor I don't think I've deleted anything as plagiarism yet actually, though I may have forgotten something. It does annoy me though when people don't cite their source even when called on it, and someone else ends up doing the legwork to supply it. It just feels intellectually dishonest even if it's not plagiarism per se.
When the first gamer comes to the pile for the last time there must be between 1 and 9 Euro in the pile. So the controller is worth between 1 and 9 Euro.

What gets/get multiplied by division ?
Well, the question though appears to be of mathematical in nature, more than one answer is possible, though they are not related to mathematics !
What I find eyebrow-raising is the assertion of "yet more arrogance" from someone who's been here two days. they've encountered a lot of arrogance, have they, on the, er, exactly one post they've interacted with?
I find it ironic that his reaction to several people correcting him is to call them arrogant instead of considering the small chance that he might have been wrong.
I even gave the benefit of the doubt in acknowledging a tangential answer (even though as amply pointed out, it's NaA). Some people just want to be mad.

This puzzle is a variation of a 3 digit addition puzzle I saw recently.
A , B , and C are positive integers between 0 and 9.
Six digit numbers formed using A,B and C are given in the following equation
ABCABB+BBBCAB-BCBABC = CCCCCC
What are the values of A,B and C?
Beastly Gerbil has poi...
My friend has asked me to see if his RNG can be hacked by studying the various numbers generated thus far within the series.
It generates a random 3 digit code every hour.
If anyone can crack this, please feel free to contact me @insta.kamau@gmail.com
There is a reward attached to it for those...
