Sorry about being my usual tardy self. Here is a link to the 1st draft. It is in dire need of proof reading and comments. I'm undecided whether I should actually discuss the constuction of finie fields. I will lose the advanced high school -readers, if I do. Also, I have never blogged before, so I have no idea of whether my style of writing is acceptable.

I like it, but I'm curious to know why it's polynomials of degree 27 and 23 at the very end of the paper--that's the first time those polynomials are mentioned.

:15842404 It's actually setup, I just had a busy Thursday/Friday last week so I haven't had a chance to sit down with the Math moderators to get you guys running.

Basically, the current status is that the blog site exists, but no one's a user yet and you don't have a design. I'll be walking the math moderators through the process when I've got at least one of them with me, and the design will be a general Stack Exchange Design for maybe a few weeks until I can get the design team to work on a Mathematics skin.

@anorton: Yeah. I forgot to explain that. The large grid has 28 x 24 payload bytes in it. So the horizontal code uses a degree 27 polynomial, and the vertical one uses degree 23 polys. I should probably think of another way of ending my bit, because those exact numbers are not important.
