@user156679 it's not at all clear, but you would use the number you needed to read the English to find the letters. Once you can read the English sentences, you no longer need them for the puzzle.

To get the English sentences I used shifted order of alphabet. BCDE...A, then CDEF..AB. For the first sentence STUVWX.... matched.
