Perhaps, if demand for a moderator spikes or if someone steps down, I can step up...?
(It's happened several times on Stack Overflow.)
> called up after the election to meet additional demand
^^^ precedent indeed.
For now, I'll probably spend a bit more time on Meta and Ask a Super User Moderator
Still, I followed, and voted in this election, I was impressed by most candidates. It is always a shame when there are more good people for the job, than there are jobs.

After double-checking: It was actually a 14.45-point difference.
The actual threshold for election is 442.16.
JMG finished with 449.53, Mokubai with 445.70, and I finished with 431.25.
Remind me, what's the election formula that's used?
Meek SVT?
Meek STV.

Q: How are moderator election votes counted, in plain English?

PopsThe election pages' sidebars state that Stack Exchange elections use the Meek STV vote-counting method: After m days, the final voting results will be freely downloadable from this page forever, and we will calculate the n winners using OpenSTV with the Meek STV method. How does that work? ...

Whatever the case, when the community needs another moderator, I will be ready to answer the call of duty.
One last note: Canadian Luke finished a distant fourth at 264.04, having been eliminated in round 6 of 7.
