@Shalvenay @nitsua60 have discorded to you the revised draft. Nits, the stuff in parens/italics iss the DM's narration. Rrauj and Hal's parts are identified by names in bold. I went to a funeral a few years ago; the guy was a third degree freemason. The masonic lodge came and did an awesome rite/ceremony at his grave side. That kind of thing can be neat if people know the form and know their parts.

@KorvinStarmast yeah, I think "hearthfolk" would be the best word for what you originally meant by "settlers" :) but other than that, looking better and better

although I'm warming up to the wording as-is on further review...

so yeah, I think what you have should be good :)

@KorvinStarmast @MikeQ @NautArch @Shalvenay @trogdor that's correct, I'm a "no" for tonight. (I'm the supervising parent for an 8 y.o. birthday party/sleepover, and I fee like there's little chance I'd not be interrupted ten times during our time-slot.)
Sorry 'bout that--I'm looking forward to our next session! With the pace we're going I feel like we're going to get to our first "set piece" whenever we're together next, and it'll be nice to use the bells and whistles of roll 20: full artwork, prepopulated encounter maps, line of sight, ....

@Praxiteles Wow, just saw your AL question. I'm going to throw this out there: if your DM really has quit your group and if timing could somehow work and if technology works and if you-all want to and if we end up liking each other enough... I could step in and GM your group to the end. I'm an AL DM thrice over and a site coordinator and have recently (last month) run a L11 group through exactly the parts of ToA you're in (through to the end). In any case, if you're interested ping me.

(BTW, as I recall *that* beholder in the book has a couple of modifications from the "vanilla" beholder in the MM... don't always assume a monster you see is the same one you know the stats for!)
