10:02 AM
@J.Musser you lurking aboot?

10:32 AM
@casey you lurking about?

3 hours later…
1:39 PM
hi @EnergyNumbers

@SabreTooth hello there - I'm just flying through, things to do ... how you doing?

not bad... twitchy about my recent question and answer as normal
and you?

1:52 PM
@EnergyNumbers not sure why, but am a bit nervous

@SabreTooth there's really really no need. Anyway, if it's not fun, just step outside and take a walk in the park / along the beach / wherever - there's a big curious world beyond a miniscule network of Q&A sites. Anyhows, gotta go, laterzzz

i have done all that...lol - have a great day!

2:43 PM
@Neo found an article that gives a nice insight to your late veneer question

6 hours later…
9:04 PM
@SabreTooth Yeah, am now, what's up?

How you been?

@SabreTooth great, you?

@J.Musser I think I am getting into the rhythm of the site, with my latest masterpieces earthscience.stackexchange.com/questions/2795/… and earthscience.stackexchange.com/questions/2879/…
not too shabby
going to do some more answers today
13 revival badhes... sheesh

@SabreTooth +1/+1.

lol

9:16 PM
@SabreTooth you told me that in the tavern, iirc. :)

I decided not to delete any of my memberships, but are going to focus pretty much on here, Astro and GL and just casually glance at the other places

@SabreTooth Cool.
I've been wondering why my SO account has 30 views. It's ... really boring.

but I was tempted to delete my membership at HSM, Physics, SU, meta and A51 - but may need these later
The ES stats are looking better than a few weeks ago

@SabreTooth Temptations are there for resisting. Good job.
@SabreTooth linky?

I use that stats page to make interim goals for myself - currently, am working on the unanswered list to get the answerd percentage up to and over 90%
lol I am attempted to write question on meta asking about 'too many' revival badges
but as was said in the Tavern, nothing wrong with it
WOAH!
I have voted just over 1000 times

9:25 PM
@SabreTooth I've voted 6116 times on GL.
@SabreTooth I'm the only one there that said that, but I am always right. ;)

no one has complained either

@SabreTooth about what?

i might write the question out of curiousity anyway
@J.Musser 'too many' revival badges

I've only voted 231 times here on ES.
@SabreTooth Why would they?

@J.Musser i doubt its a problem

9:27 PM
Here's an activity graph for ES:
Does look good recently.

very tasty stats
@J.Musser you should vote more - get a silver at 300!
i vote cap daily

@SabreTooth Thing is, I support so many sites, and am extremely limited timewise.

@J.Musser yes, thats why I can only cope with my handful

@SabreTooth Much of my support comes as answers to meta questions, and things of that sort. I have very high ratings on quite a few child metas.

mind you, i have the civic duty badge on all of my sites
@J.Musser that is something I am picking up

9:34 PM
@SabreTooth Do you know what's even more impressive? A high flag count, with few declined. That, and the meta posting, will be very helpful to you if you ever run for mod, once the site graduates. These things become public.

on mse i have 127 flags
i will never be mod

@SabreTooth I might, on GL. I've been told I'd be a decent one. Ha!

i'd vote for you

@SabreTooth So would I.

i was nominated on HSM for pro tem mod

9:37 PM
It was actually another mod that told me so.
@SabreTooth Why don't you want to be one?

mainly time and due my shaky start on SE, the management would not allow it I think

It's an exceptional chance to build the community.
The management isn't going to stop you.

i'd want a lot more eperience

@SabreTooth How long have you been a member?

lol on HSM, I keep on putting bounties on other members questions
a couple of months

9:41 PM
I see you joined on 9/17/'14, at 20:32, and 38 seconds UTC.

yup

@SabreTooth lol so do I on Biology

i just added 100 more rep over 2 unanswered questions
i used to post vigourosly on HSM and HSM meta (20+ on each) - now inactive

One day, on GL, I would have made 395 rep in one day, which I probably already told you.

wow!

9:45 PM
It was capped at 230.
Working on the Epic badge.
It will take forever. I only hit the cap 3 times last year...

i am also self answering on ES

I like to see about 3000-5000 rep a month on GL, but it's slowing down.

i'll be back, need to forage for food

@SabreTooth OK, go eat somethin.. actually, same here.
@SabreTooth What was the thing you pinged me for first? I forgot to ask.

it was to show the stats :)

9:54 PM
@SabreTooth oh, ok.
so no issues for me to handle...

no no

I like handling issues.

10:55 PM
hi @Neo!

Neo
hello

how are you?

Neo
eh
You know, a few weeks before AGU
always stressful

aaaah

Neo
I'm on 4 posters this year... never had more than 1
so... a ton of work to get done in 3 weeks
including some simulations hahaha

10:58 PM
i have never been to AGU

Neo
its crazy
there are like 27k people going this year

holy crap! recruit AGU to ES

Neo
lol
will be putting out some sort of flyer

I am looking at ways to build awareness of the site
but alas, I am still just a school teacher

Neo
ES teachers in HS are important
we don't have any in USA
if you take ES in USA your "stupid" and not smart enough for biology,chemistry or physics
I took ES in HS
High School*

11:03 PM
ES is a possible, but almost non existent subject offered in HS here
I will not be a HS teacher for too long
got my PhD and are getting papers published
for now, am posting answers here

Neo
thats good

just biding my time

Neo
Its hard to get an academic job before the papers for your PhD papers are published
the 5th year in my lab is taking a year to write up all her papers before she applys to postdocs

i have 8 published now, 2 more submitted

Neo
WOW!
thats quite a bit
thats a lot more than average
I know some assistant professors with less

11:08 PM
and 28 planned
all while working as a mere school teacher
but I have had over 40 rejections from australian universities
looking further afield
am going to try to self answer the following:
4
Q: Will a volcano erupt in Australia soon?

Sabre ToothA Science Daily article Volcanic eruptions long overdue in SE Australia (University of Melbourne, 2011), suggests that a volcanic eruption is potentially "long overdue" in south-east Australia (south-west Victoria and the south-eastern part of South Australia). As per the map below: Image sou...
