@NautArch Myh son ordered the novels: he got me the first one in hardback, we found the second one, then he ordered a boxed set of the novels in paperback. I just finished Blood of Elves. I got the game, W III, but that particular perspective (wasd) takes a lot of getting used to for me. I have to retrain my twitch muscles, and I occasionally get a headache ( a mild form of what we called simulator sickness in the Navy) It's why I quite playing WoW.
And on a 'non game' note, While he was writing those short stories and books, the war in Bosnia / Former Yugoslavia was going on. He's from Poland. The 'wall' had recently come down. I get the idea that he was making some allusions to real life conflicts (who was here first!!!) in the tension that he presents between dwarves, gnomes, halflings, elves, and humans. And the zealots from Nilfgaard.
The Balkan conflicts of mid to late 90's was when I was stationed in Europe, and dealing with the arms embargo on Former Yugoslavia (and other stuff) was part of what I did every day at work.
