@NautArch Kiutaköngäs is just the name of some rapids I'm-not-exactly-sure-where, but whoever chose the pics for the video seems to agree that it is a wintery tune :)
@Gwideon Fine thanks, doing the last commits for Friday before setting off towards our relatives out of town
@NautArch And yes, it's one of my favorite tunes <3
I already lined this elsewhere, but... "Baltimore Todolo" by Martin Spitznagel, Brian Holland and Danny Coots
Martin Spitznagel is one of those ragtime pianists who never fails to put a smile on my face because he seems to genuinely enjoy every performance to the fullest.
also seems like we play the same keys most songs, so it's hard to mix it up. I don't really know the keys/scales, but I end up finding the same notes that sound right.
I also have a sticky key that a local place failed to fix, so that's been frustrating, too.
@NautArch yeah instruments not working can be so frustrating. the middle E key on my piano won't play anything unless I hit the key really hard and even then the note is super quiet.
I originally got the melodica because I wanted to translate my piano skills into a very portable instrument, but it puts the people in the mood for some definitely-not-serious jolly fun so well I'm appreciating it as an object in itself beyond mere substitute
On the album "Handful of Keys" (spotify) Spitznagel has arrangements of a few popular evergreen rags but also a Mary Poppoins Medley, and some music from Super Mario, Final Fantasy and Legend of Zelda.
@Gwideon Hey, if it starts getting more lengthy, definitely post here (or alternatively post a link to the text), but otherwise you posted two lines of text, that is very far from being annoying
writing isn't something that really works with immediate committee feedback for every line - line by line or paragraph by paragraph isn't how a work can be properly evaluated
@Gwideon I know, and if it works for you, that's awesome. But writing is a long process. Trying to circumvent with constant feedback may not actually be the most helpful thing. And you also want to time to work, rework, rework again. Sharing first drafts isn't helpful for or you those trying to help.
@NautArch true. Um I probably won't post again until I'm done with it but um feedback on the start is useful for me as it gives me the confidence to stop questioning myself and just write
You really should just sit down and give yourself at least an hour to work on it.
That time can be in writing new content or in revising current. But stop/start takes you out of the process, which may end up hurting you. Especially when you're just trying to start and having issues doing so.
But good writing doesn't just happen and that's often hard to internalize.
Trust yourself and trust in the process. And trust that when you are ready to share a more complete and edited piece that the feedback is to help you improve.
It may not be sunshine and roses feedback, but that's still okay and will help you in writing better.
:52484163 You have your start that you posted. It's a good start! Just keep going :)
