@YannisRizos what, you thought you'd get through this without having to work? :-)
@MichaelT freehand lines are not precisely lines, but you said "draw", not "draft". You also didn't say perpendicular to what, or that the green or transparent lines had to be wholly so, or that you required the entire kitten. So, to answer your actual question, "yes" (with those clarifications). Cheers.

@MonicaCellio You'll have to post that to the Pets SE Chat room as a pic of your cat LOL

@jmort253 my cats' cuteness far exceeds my artistic ability. :-)

still, nice solution!

@jmort253 thanks. :-) (I'm actually a little better with a physical pen (or brush) and paper than with a mouse, but opted for the expedience of a freebie paint tool over firing up the scanner...)

you can do a lot with paint tools... you ever hear of Hal Lasko?
97 years old... amazing artist

@jmort253 wow. No, I hadn't.

Kinda shows you that anything is possible, even in your 90's...

What caught my attention more than his age is "legally blind". (I know that's not the same as totally blind but "just" something like 20/200, but still...)

@MonicaCellio Yeh, with the computer, they said he was able to zoom in to where he could see the pictures... what an amazing example of how technology gave someone part of his life back...
But imagine not just learning how to use a computer at 83, but then also not being able to see the darn thing....
That takes guts, courage, and perseverance.

Workplace needs 6 moderators!

@jmort253 it sure does. And also, with things zoomed in as much as he probably needs, he can only see a small part of his art at any time -- working with only a mental image of the whole has gotta be super-challenging.
@gnat yay!

@jmort253 thanks for stepping in and cleaning that comment thread. I'm afraid I got carried away there

4:34 PM
@CMW Whenever I post cleanup messages I always try to make them generic so as to not call anyone out specifically...
and long comment threads will just happen... not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. :)

@gnat Too much of any good thing can turn into a bad thing... we're all human... and there's a sweet spot between keeping people too busy and not busy enough.
Too many moderators could lead to folks dreaming up problems that aren't really a problem... the right balance ensures that the focus stays on the most important things.
This would be similar to that tiny little town with so many police and so little crime that they start doing drivers license checkpoints...

@jmort253 I'm kidding about 6. But having a supply of strong runner ups is definitely good - I've seen it at Programmers when maple_shaft was quickly promoted when turned out we needed additional moderator

@gnat Yeh, I don't think anyone is against adding more if we need them, but when tweaking the settings on the machine, it's best to change just a few variables at a time.
Going back to the "we're all human" paradigm, we're about to get a new set of moderators, so once everyone settles in and once graduation smooths out, it will then be easier to see if we need to turn another dial...
It's much easier to add more people than it is to say "thanks for your service, mod #4, but we need to cut someone out, so..... laters! "
I remember on Programmers SE when they first added #4.... it was after a series of ongoing problems and quite some time after graduation... enough to where it was clear that there wasn't another setting that could be tweaked instead.

@gnat The more nominees there are, the better chance of choosing the best of the best.
Nominations end tomorrow, so there's still time!

@jmort253 well now that we've got 6 candidates, I don't worry much if (when:) it turns out we need more than 3

Q: How come there are 5 Workplace questions in the hot list?

gnatOver the last two days I've observed that there are 5 Workplace questions in the Hot Network Questions list. Given that list contains 100 questions and there are more than 100 sites in SE network, equal distribution would mean less than one question per site in that list. How come Workplace pres...

FWIW, there are seven questions right now in the list: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. In comparison, Stack Overflow has 3 (that's t-h-r-e-e)... no wonder it's priority -17 to them, with such a protection — gnat Mar 21 at 12:13
