When I try to use the code from that question $\unicode{x2014;}Test\unicode{x2014;}$ $\unicode{x2014;}Test\unicode{x2014;}$ I get an error saying: "Argument to \unicode must be a number."
Interestingly, it works in chat with robjohn's bookmarklet.
Does this depend on cofiguration of MathJax which the site uses? Were there some changes in how this is handled?
