Fun fact: Ms Teams has really fun post formatting options
Here's me and I'm writing an announcement for the team. Originally I have it as a standard message. I see it has a subheading box. I think "well I have to fill that in...big text is mandatory!"
Then I see there's an announcement setting
And it has an even bigger heading box
So obviously I used that and replaced the text in the subheading box
Then I discover you can change the announcement banner colour
So I change it to be the most obnoxious and bright pink I can find because that's the least expected colour for a group of men
And then I discover you can use images as the header banner
So I upload the first image I can find which is a graph of team activity
And the worst part is that it didn't even look bad lol
And then I discover you can bold text. So obviously I bold the entire first sentence
And then I discover you can mark posts as important, which gives it a red line on the side and the word IMPORTANT! in red at the start
So obviously I do that too
In conclusion, I was laughing really hard at the tiniest things in Ms teams

Awww they don't do the sanitisation thing at the hospital bus stop anymore :(
That was like half the magic of the bus pulling in, picking up whoever, getting everything sprayed and wiped down and the bus continuing on its way
(for context: the bus ride home from uni goes past a hospital)
(well, into the hospital)
(into the bus stop that's inside hospital grounds)
(obviously it doesn't drive into the actual hospital)
(that would be a bit silly)
(maybe 2% funny but generally speaking a bad idea)
(yes I am on the bus right now)
(hello to anyone else here on the bus)
(which is 99.9% likely to be no one)
(but just in case)
@lyxal Hello
Hey completely unrelated topic but did any of y'all ever do that lexile reading program stuff?
Mandatory here
It was ELO but for reading in a sort of way
MAP-R? (idk if that's just an American thing)
06:38
Never heard of map-r
Man I can't believe the lexile system actually got me to read more and actually care about improving my ranking :p
I was like one of the first which got 1000+ lexile ranking
In my grade probably in 2014
It meant I could bring any book I wanted to read for morning reading
@lyxal Wait they restricted books based on that score? That's dumb
Obviously, I chose to bring bjarne stroustrup's c++ reference for my morning reading
Some guy in a server I'm in asked ^^^ out of the blue
@user you were only allowed to borrow your elo
@user bit of a bruh moment
@lyxal That's kinda stupid. It's okay for someone to pick up a book that's too hard for them and struggle a little
Frick whoever at your school implemented that policy
That person then started talking about how poor Indians were attractive and rich Indians were ugly
For context, there is no context here. Before this, the whole conversation consisted of that person idolizing rich people and talking about how poor people were "unclassy," and then they came out with this
The conversation eventually ended with the guy hitting on literally everyone until we got weirded out and left
This has been by far the most entertaining conversation I've had ever
10/10 would engage in an argument with a troll again

@user oh but you could easily increase it by doing a quick quiz on any book you read
Like any time
All you had to do was show that you were actually able to read the book
And you were encouraged to do things that went towards increasing your ranking
And not everything was lexile marked

I'm back
like actually this time
couldn't recover my data but at least it's just the disk
so I'm going to have to set up fricking wsl and opencv again

A: How to stop ants from learning philosophy and taking over Belarus

DaronAnts are Already in Charge Your question is based on the typical vertebrate naivety that humans are the dominant species on the plant. This is incorrect. Humans are not the dominant species. The dominant species is ants. ANTS. ANTS ANTS ANTS Ants have been here for one hundred million years. Fo...
