Okay I have discovered the world's stupidest cost-cutting measure
So, a while back I bought a gray blanket sort of thing for my bed
Not the sheet, the thicker one that goes on top of that
With a quilt sorta material
Well, it got faded by the sun over time, so I got a new one
It's a striped pattern, with some dark gray and some light, and the different shades of gray have different textures and stuff
And, presumably in order to save costs, instead of the old fabric, the new one is just a consistent, single material, and it has the old pattern printed on it
Like, they took a picture of the old pattern, and instead of putting dark gray fabric on where the dark gray stripes are, and light gray fabric where the light gray stripes are, and so on, they just took a plain white one and put the picture on it
And you can tell it's a picture and not just the pattern recreated as a single image, because there's two layers of the fabric-y woven-together-ness, one from the material itself and one from the material in the picture
Not sure whether to think it's funny or feel scammed lol
The material's also substantially thinner, which would be a problem if I lived somewhere cold I guess
