I was wondering if you had the command with the quotes right? When I first opened the blasklist.conf file it looked like "blacklist rtw88_8821ce" and I took the quotes off manually in the file. Look at two day ago post time stamp 6:09 am

@chili555 I've seen examples of usage \"blacklist bad_driver"\ as well so perhaps the question is will the code be recognized or read with the quotes in place. I have done nothing to my blacklist file I am just trying to be accurate and thorough for others reading and using the answer. Thanks again, wifi is great.

I only used quotes in the context of the command 'echo.' Let's do a test. Please run the command:
echo "foo bar" > testing.txt
Now read the file:
cat testing.txt
Or even open it with the usual graphic text editor.
Notice that the words that were added with echo are not enclosed in quotes!
Here is the result from my machine:
chili@T440p:~/Desktop/Forum$ echo "foo two" > testing.txt
chili@T440p:~/Desktop/Forum$ cat testing.txt
foo two
So, if the quotes ended up in the blacklist file, it must be that you added the line yourself with a text editor and not, as I suggested in my answer, with echo.

PS - If one reads a command and says, "Oh, I know what they are doing but I prefer to do it another way." the result may well be that the suggested result doesn't work; or works but not well, or even that it works and does damage. If in doubt, please stop and ask.
