@ShadowWizardHatesOmicron Just saw one answer in your questionnaire re. disagreeing with a moderator’s decision - there is a good reason why SE tries to have at least three mods per site. That means ideally disagreement can be resolved without pinging CM.
@Stephie well, I want to believe that in 99% of the cases we'll be able to reach agreement. Only in the extreme case where each side stands on their own opinion and won't budge, a CM will be required. What you suggest instead?
Also, most of the times I'll just let it go, and "agree to disagree" but sometimes the question in question is too important.
@ShadowWizardHatesOmicron It’s not exactly a secret that there are mod-only areas and functions in SE. Out of curiosity: Have you ever been a moderator? You aren’t exactly a “newbie” on the network?
@Stephie I've been moderator on other forum, not Stack Exchange, so yes and no. It was ASPFree Forum, quite a big place, was member since 2000 and think moderator since 2005 or so. Took part until they shut down around 2009 or 2010 and shortly after I joined SE.
So I'm familiar with the moderation tasks of cleaning spam, dealing with users, etc. Just not on SE. ;)
@Stephie - This is something of a surprise. Is there a mod who is retiring? It's not really a very busy site yet to need more mods, but I don't see what's going on behind the scenes. :)
