Q: Word for eighteen expressed as Twenty Minus Two

SPAOther than Latin, are there any languages that have a word for the number 18 that means twenty minus two? A quick glance at some of the numeral systems of languages in the Indo-European reveal that 20 - 1 is common and there are some 30 - 1 words. But I only know of 20 - 2 in Latin (duodevigin...

@Cerberus I fixed my problem. It was some problem on the phone software maybe... I reset to Factory settings and now it says "0,96 GB" instead of 126 MB.

A: Space problem in Samsung Galaxy Pocket GT-S5300

AlenannoI have solved my own problem today and I'd like to provide the solution for others that might have the same problem. The actual Internal memory for this phone should amount to exactly 0,96 GB or close to that. I knew this confronting my phone to another one from the same model. I first tried form...

@Alenanno Ohh so you did in fact have more memory!
I was thinking 128 MB was extremely small for a recent phone.
Yay!
@Cerberus Yes! I think it was the phone that "didn't see it" somehow.
Yes lol
Very odd.
As we say in Italy
"Tutto è bene quel che finisce bene"

:D
All's well that ends well.
Eind goed, al goed.
This expression exists in many languages!
15:22
Ah, great lol
I should have checked the internal-memory specification.
> Storage 3 GB(inbuilt)
So you should have even more!
Perhaps Android itself takes up the remainder.
@Cerberus You have a Nexus no? You should have more, not me. :P
Ah you mean for my problem.
Hehe.
Yes lol
No, that is for your phone.
Yeah.
My phone has 16 GB officially, but I can only access 13.3 GB.
15:25
At least I can install Skype without fearing the "Your storage is full" message.
Oh that's not bad.
So Android must take up 2.7 GB on my phone.
After all, it's not like you have to install all that stuff, no?
And it must take up about 2 GB on yours.
Some games, some apps, and that's it.
Yeah, so far the 13.3 GB is enough.
The problem is, I have no card reader.
So the 13.3 GB is really all I will ever have.
15:26
You cannot have an SD card??
So a few films and my memory is full.
Nope.
Why is that?
That's weird.
Because Google is stupid.
Iphones don't have card readers either.
Some of the newest Android phones have card readers, some don't.
Yeah but they're 16, 32 and 64 GB.
It is my theory that they are first trying to make you get used to having no card reader, and then later they can try and sell you a phone with 32 GB internal memory for € 80 more than the variant with 16 GB.
A very easy way to extort money from customers.
15:29
An unrelated question: do you see my nickname in italics on this chat?
Yours?
Yes.
I'm the room's owner—you are a mere mod.
Mere lol
:D
Hehe.
15:29
Remember who put you there!
Do dictators ever remember who gave them their power?
You're a dictator?
Do presidents ever remember who voted for them?
Now you're a president? Wow, from tyranny to democracy in some seconds.
@Alenanno Ehh nooo, certainly not. I would never! At least not in your presence.
@Alenanno Same effect.
15:31
@Cerberus Not in my presence?
Today I was out and I saw the video "4 Minutes" with Madonna and Justin Timberlake, now I have it in my head. But it's all Timbaland's fault. One of my fave rap producers.
Hmm.
Try bleach.
Bleach?
To bleach your brain, to get rid of the song.
What was the movie called? That the man tried to bleach his brain to forget his girlfriend.
@Cerberus Ahah I don't think that's necessary!
15:37
Hullio @Cerb.
Hi.
@Alenanno It will be if you decide to date a horrible witch of a girlfriend one day...
@Cerberus Oh, I carefully choose those... lol
@Cerberus Do you like western movies?
Thanks.
No problem.
@Alenanno Wise.
15:46
Eheh
@Alenanno Ehm not specifically. I rarely watch movies.
@Cerberus Ah I think you told me.
Is there a specific one that you like?
All Sergio Leone's movies.
Which are... 5, western related.
Or maybe 6 if you count a collab.
OK noted.
15:47
He really re-wrote a genre there. He changed some standards.
For example, in classic westerns there was a good guy and a bad guy.
In his movies, the roles are not clean cut... The good guy is not that good, as he makes "philosophically" bad choices (he kills someone, for example)
but he's still the good guy.
But anyway, check "For a fistful of dollars"... Nothing complicated, but a good plot, not stupid, with a young Clint Eastwood. :)
16:14
Ah OK.

@Alenanno In the restaurant where I had lunch today:
Hi!
What's up with the double consonants?

1 hour later…
21:10
Maybe the Roman dialect?
Hmm Romaneschi...
What does that mean? Gypsy?
@OtavioMacedo Where are you anyway?
I see Spanish?
That's not Portuguese, is it?
> importada
I am in São Paulo
But this is an Italian restaurant
There are lots of them here
Ah OK.
So what is Romanescho?
From Emilia Romagna?
Roman is Romano.
It's a dialect ahahah
there's nice stuff in there
lolll
It's the Rome accent/dialect
so to speak
"mejo" "er", yes it's Rome.
Did you understand that @OtavioMacedo?
21:25
Not everything
@OtavioMacedo If you need something translated, let me know!
They are all sayings, by the way.
Some are amusing eheh
Tiettela
What is it?
It's basically "tienitela".
You know this term, I suppose?
It might not be helpful if you don't lol
No, I don't
Ok, sorry. It is:
"tieni" = second person of "tenere", keep.
In this case, it's a sort of imperative.
te = underlines to yourself
la = simple pronoun
so "keep her [to yourself]"
21:33
Ah, so keep the sad things to yourself...
Is that it ?
Don't complain all the time
I'm not sure of the non-literal sense, but the literal one means "sour thing, keep her close to yourself"
caro as in "dear"
Caro is quite a polysemic word in italian.
It can be "dear", "expensive"...
I'll be going away for now. If you need more, just ping me and I'll answer as soon as I get back online. :)
A presto!
Bye!
