tetsijin: I will help you make Audacity work. Well maybe I can not make any guarantees, depends partly on your system. I think Audacity took me a month to install before even having to learn the actual tool.
Personally I'm worried Audacity is application inensive enough to even further slow my actual machine, I appreciate having a warhorse for sound but sheesh.
Really Audacity needs 10g of RAM?
intensive damn my keyboard is stuttering.
I mean really Audacity with Ubuntu Linux I have to watch my IO Rate just for Audacity.

I am not sure if I should just vote, or also Approve button, the https://sound.stackexchange.com/a/48548/19675 answer to my question, I am trepid from not really knowing if there are other ways and do not want to make a scene.

I really appreciate Mark's information, should I reward their being first to give an idea, netiquette please?
I am not sure if I should add research article links to back up their research or just editing to link to the wiki of the term they used is enough/appropriate. If I add specific journal citations does that go too far, should I add as my own answer and reference their answer in the question, add as comments, or? Their answer does not give the full story but hey said they're busy so I understand but should I wait for somebody else to add breadth or am I the one learning enough?

I edited to add wikipedia link, did not do the other research article/journal citation edits.
