A: Are Marriages happening in present world valid according to Hinduism?

R. KaushikNot really. I will answer using Manusmriti. Even though Manusmriti is contradicting Vedas, Puranas and other sacred scriptures on caste and history of humans, it is a decent source of knowledge when it does not contradict divine scriptures. Women who are not virgins cannot legally marry. पाणिग...

Manu smriti does not contradict Vedas, Puranas or any other sacred scriptures. Other than that, your answers are correct.
@mar stop trolling. Varna migration is given in Puranas, Itihasas, Vedas and Tantras.
mar
mar
Yes, I never said it is not possible. Manu Smriti does not say it is not possible. Vishvamitra changed varna within same birth. It took him thousands of years of penance. Almost nobody today is going to do that.
@mar Lifespan in those days was 100,000 years. That equals roughly 2 years today because that is Kali Yuga's best point. For example, Srimad Bhagavatam (12.5.53) says benefits of many 100s of years penance in Vishwamitra's time is achieved in just 1 mantra today. Do the math. Also maybe Vishwamitra didn't chant right mantra since according to Shiv Puran says you only have to chant 1 lakh times. LOL
@mar Vedas themselves are saying convert all the world's people to Aryas (obviously in this life)... Tantra is also shruti which says similar thing... Rahasya scripture is also divine which says same thing (IN SAME BIRTH)... as well as other Puranas & Itihasa.... so your point is totally irrelevant
mar
mar
Correct. I already did the math in another thread. But just as duration is reduced, desire is also proportionally reduced. Just as nobody except a select few actually did the penance in those yugas, very few actually do the penance in this yuga also.
Vedas say convert them to arya behavior, not brahmin varna. Sudras are arya too if they follow varnashrama dharma.
16:43
@mar Arya "behavior"? Total 100% lies. NOWHERE. You are just doing family politics. Vedas is saying make non-Aryas into Aryas... which means they will be Arya Varna (vedic language) like Brahmin, Kshatriya & Vaishya.... Why are you making things up and lying continuously? Stop creating things that don't exist. Flagged.
mar
mar
If someone says "Make people brave", you are interpreting to mean "Make people fight in army" ? One can be brave in their line of work. Similarly, one can be arya (noble) by staying in their own varna.
@mar haha nonsensical comparison!! If someone says make people Army Jawans... then it means make them Army Jawans.... You are just trolling now
mar
mar
it doesn't say army jawans. it says arya. arya means noble. you r the one giving fancy interpretations like 'change their varna'.
@mar Yes, Arya clearly means higher varnas (noble) as opposed to Shudras. Vaishyas are explicitly called Aryas. Other sacred scriptures, and even your semi-sacred Manusmriti also call 3 higher varnas Arya. LOL
mar
mar
Varnas implies arya, but arya does not imply varna. Basic logic 101. also, making someone arya does not mention anything about upgrading varna from shudra to brahmin, which is what this original discussion is about.
16:43
TOTAL LIES AGAIN!! Varna is NOWHERE "implying Arya" since Shudra is also a varna but separate from others! Read the question or Vedas first before writing your political nonsense. The "Basic Logic 101" is that you are doing family politics that's all. You are power hungry and anti-Vedic, anti-scripture except semi-sacred smritis........ and Arya is implying Varna since Vedas clearly talk about higher varnas as Arya and even says Arya Varna as opposed to Shudra!
mar
mar
by your logic, whole of north india above Vindhyas had no shudras, because it is referred to as Aryavarta in scriptures.
@mar No. Afghanistan has many non-Afghans. It is still called Afghanistan though. This not "my logic". I think you do not know the meaning of "logic" lol
mar
mar
Correct. So just like Aryavart refers to a region where Shudras live, Arya can also refer to people who are Shudras.
So according to you, if a non-Afghan identifies as Afghan, he becomes an Afghan ?
No because I gave racial example only for your point on country names LOL... I should have given religious example to make you be able to understand better.... Okay here goes.... If a country is called PAKISTAN (land of the pure Muslims) or ISLAMIC LAND or JEWISH LAND.... that doesn't mean Hindus cannot exist there. But yes, Hindus can be converted.... just like Shudra can become part of Arya Varna
mar
mar
If a land called Aryavart can contain majority Aryas and few Shudras, a race called Arya can contain majority Aryas and few Shudras.
There is already a word called Dwija to denote 3 varnas above Shudra. You are coming up with new meanings for Arya. When I'm arguing that mixed-race (varna sankara) should be avoided, you are slandering me of being the same. This is hilarious.
16:43
@mar Lies - Dvija is NOWHERE in Vedas.... In Vedas it is Arya that refers to Brahmin, Kshatriya & Vaishya as opposed to Shudra which is non-Arya.... Shudra is to be converted to Arya as per Vedas
mar
mar
So, you have read all of Vedas ? and Dwija is there in Itihasa/Purana/Dharma-shastras.
If you can bring back all the 1000s of lost Vedic shakas, I can show you where that word is.
@mar It does say some weird things like Dasyus being non-Chaturvarna (implying it is murder outside the Chaturvarna is not necessarily sinful). No one I know of defined Dasyu that way without using the Manu Smriti.
Just for anyone reading I asked him to show where Dvija is written in Ved before I will answer him again... then my comment was deleted.... and I said Arya is nowhere mentioned as a race I think that comment is also missing.
