A: How Would A Velociraptor Wear Clothes?

AshThe thermal jackets they use for birds that are recuperating after surgery might give you somewhere to start since the dromaeosaurs and avians share the same basis body plan. They're basically puffer jacket vests, very Marty McFly in fact. As for pants I'd suggest suspenders that wrap over the ba...

Thank you very much, but could you please provide an image of the jackets? I'm having trouble finding an example of one to see it.

@FelisMiscellaneous Of a Velociraptor wearing pants? No sorry I totally lack the artistic ability for that.
No no just the bird jackets! I can draw my own velocipants. :)
Ash
Ash
@FelisMiscellaneous These are not quite the ones I am thinking of but they should you an idea. Bird Jacket, bird in jacket.
Thank you anyways! These are useful and adorable.

@Ash Bird wings seem to be more human-like in their shoulder position, compared dromaeosaur wings. Have you taken this into account?
Ash
Ash
@IchthysKing Yes, in that a bird could use human style suspenders while dromaeosaurs are tipped far further forward making this impractical so they need a different design.
@Ash I was refering to the wings, mainly the shoulder joints, which are more ventral in dromaeosaurs than in humans or birds
Ash
Ash
@IchthysKing That is a simple matter of changing the size/positioning of the arm-eyes in the jacket, and not by that much actually, you have to customise that slightly switching genders in people as well so it's a very common alteration.
the problem is, how they gonna wear it themselves? doesnt seems like the raptor can wear it themselves, since it look to wrap around the back to fasten or seal it, and surely the bird dont wear it themselves and they require helper no?
Ash
Ash
@LiJun Plenty of well to do gentlemen have servants, and dressing assistance wasn't uncommon historically.

if thats the case, any clothes can be fit to raptor then, since the servant can help them wear it, beside isnt this what OP ask "How Would A Velociraptor Wear Clothes?" rather than simply the type of clothes, while leaving the part how they can wear it?
Ash
Ash
@LiJun No getting a tee shirt on a raptor would be pretty impractical, and I don't even want to think about putting one in a turtle neck. A raptor could shrug himself into a loose vest though.
i dont get what you try to say? the "How Would A Velociraptor Wear Clothes?" is literally what OP title are, iam not saying anything regarding practicality or not, regarding the clothing.
Ash
Ash
@LiJun You suggested that a Veloceraptor could get someone to help them on with ANY article of clothing this is not so, a tee shirt would be awkward even with help and a turtleneck would be a nightmare that you'd be lucky to have end in tears and not bloodshed. A raptor might need help with pants but a vest or short sleeved jacket they could manage without a body servant.
moving the goal post aside, as awkward or uncomfortable certain type of the clothes end up are (many types of clothes are not comfortable to wear anyway), the underline is, "they still can wear it if servant is involved", and i dont think thats what OP ask. thats all. and i dont think further comment will goes anywhere if you keep bringing this up, so lets stop here.
Ash
Ash
@LiJun You moved it not me, the OP was quite happy with an answer as to what clothes not what clothes the raptor could put on themselves.
05:24
what? i think you need to read OP context there, not only thats the title, here i copy paste it againHow Would A Velociraptor Wear Clothes?. this is what OP say "How would, hypothetically, a sapient velociraptor wear clothes in order to blend in with human society? Would they just wear things like ponchos? Could they put on pants?"
Ash
Ash
@LiJun No I only need to read to OPs response to my answer to know they are reasonably satisfied with my take on their question.
oh dont get me wrong, i also like your answer, heck that bird vest is new knowledge to me. i just simply point out that the OP main question are not simply about the type of clothes but also how they can wear it.
Ash
Ash
@LiJun Fair enough.
