Is this moderator election for the Webmasters SE a periodic election or due to something else and if so do I understand correctly that he is the only moderator of this stack? Is my impression that @StevenOstermiller may have resigned - inferred only from what I've seen of his and system actions - correct?

I am not interested in being a mod, but like @davidgo

I am curious whether someone has resigned or if it is just a regular thing...
