Damn, didn't notice this room still existed :D
@hansika I'd say that most of us are in similar situations.
@Arjun @Wolgwang and me are more of the type that rant about the very existence of coaching institutes and JEE, tho 😎
@hansika dont worry, you are in good company
Go for state entrances/ try for olympiads , they allow direct admissions to some college like IIIT if u have done cs oly
@Buraian Aye, long time!!
what is JEE?
The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is an engineering entrance assessment conducted for admission to various engineering colleges in India. It is constituted by two different examinations: the JEE Main and the JEE Advanced. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) conducts the joint admission process for a total of 23 Indian Institute of Technology campuses, 31 National Institute of Technology campuses, 25 Indian Institute of Information Technology campuses and 19 other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs) based on the rank obtained by a student in JEE Mains and JEE Advanced.There...
JEE is pain
3
The curse of being an Indian teenager
2
It is often paraded for it's competitveness but not even being better than 99 percentile (better than 99% canditates) is enough to get into decent government colleges w/ CS branch
it's either caste, money or extreme hardwork in this country
4
Ofc this doesn't matter if you can do well in JEE advanced but that is another beast in it's self
That's pretty accurate.
@RajdeepSindhu Hello Rajdeep, how's the study and all going
you in 11th now?
Not to mention, I find the culture surrounding it to be deeply unsupportive of a scientific spirit.
@Buraian yup, have been for a while :D
dude, scientific spirit is non exsistent here
It is the placement and $$$ spirit
13:51
True, true
People are MAD over ranks
@Buraian It's okayish...I joined ALLEN and the teachers here, well, suck :'|
maybe in some select college like ISI / CMI, if you don't prepare early for math oly then cracking those in general cat is really hard
damn I heard good of it, chirag falor was in allen
He was in Aakash .__.
oh
oof
@Buraian I did too, but then I joined it T-T
All of them sound the same
13:52
😅
How's the studies and all going? Finding coaching friends?
Nah, I'm still enrolled in online classes...haven't moved to Kota yet...
So no coaching friends yet 😅
based
About the studies part, I'm doing decent in maths and physics. Chemistry...not so much ._.
@Buraian I've never understood what that means ;-;
You can check out anki, for organic start doing the book david R klein's organic chemistry
physical, just learn more math. Solid state is about tesselations, kinetics is just differential equations etc
inorganic is just pain
13:53
Oh, I think I'm okay as far as physical is concerned..
very based
@Buraian I'll check them out, thanks!
yea david R kleins' organic chem changed my life
it is like resnick halliday for organic chem
Ooh, that sounds tempting...I love the detail in RH.
This one like resnick is basically oriented around solving Qs
the theory is mostly comprehensive
13:55
The guys at coaching are HCV fanbois tho...for some reason ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
one extra stuff outside JEE range is the aromatic chapter, it explains MO considerations for conjugated dienes. Which is really interesting but can be skipped
HCV sucks imo
I heavily agree.
Or highly, whatever the correct word is ._.
I liked kleppner and kolenkow, it teaches using the vector formalism for most things
@Buraian I see, I see
JEE rant?
13:56
JEE rant?
@Buraian never heard of it :|
MIT profs wrote it
I liked rotation section a lot
Now I wanna check it out ._.
mathematically sophisticated physics, like a few levels higher than resnick
I see...sounds fun!
13:57
Resnick gave me a lot of ideas but kleppner gave me the bridge to connect those ideas
I understodo torque much better when I read kleppner than when I re read resnick more than five times
I can't even consult RH anymore...so I don't think I'll be able to consult yet another book ;-;
Don't really get much time for exploring things and strengthening my concepts, ye know
If you want a nice intro into Electricity and magnetism + vector calculus, check out purcell
hard read but approachable
IK lief is hard
Damn bro, that's a looooooot of recommendations...time to create a notepad file :D
Thank you!
have a look when you do get the time
Sure thing!
13:59
I spent my holidays learning vector calculus in 11th xd
but my grasp wasn't enough to do griffith's easily. Took another year till I got good enough
Why JEE?
how do you mean?
@Buraian Damn :D
@Prithubiswas are you asking why the topic of this room concerns JEE or why one should give JEE?
giving JEE is a rite of passage
14:00
kek
Well, for now, I'm just gonna solve some more repetitive JAY EE EEE questions from ALLUN's modules...take care, guys!
Good talk :D
Goodbye JEE.

1 hour later…
15:18
@Buraian haha..feels good XD
@hansika henlo

 Explorers of the Deep

A successor to HighsCOOLers (shoutout to Sai Kartik and Safdar...
here u can learn ranting ultra pro max
@Arjun That's insultingly low but
long chat
@Buraian +1
imma finish eating first
15:30
I'm gonna go have dinner too..cya!
@Buraian +111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111
@Wolgwang Is that binary or...? ._.
@hansika i believe a 12th grader going to give boards soon then JEE in jan?
@Wolgwang estar it vmro
in Explorers of the Deep, 2 days ago, by Rajdeep Sindhu
And remember that part where Sushrut's "Kyu karna hai IIT, aisa kya hai IIT mein?" problem was solved by Jeetu Bhaiya's "IIT iss liye karo kyunki tough hai......" stuff...somehow? I personally didn't like that at all.
@Buraian I never understood magnetism. 10th NCERT just ....bruh
@Buraian extreme hardwork combined with luck and did i mention? talent too
15:36
@Buraian @Arjun Do we have holidays?
@Wolgwang u won't get much ig
diwali maybe
@Arjun Ah! 🔥🔥🔥
@Arjun I was just thinking about that ;-;
@Buraian faxx
By "just", I mean the time when he mentioned it...
15:42
@RajdeepSindhu don't doubt it
16:09
@Arjun Yasss :'(
@Arjun this seems funn😂
16:47
@Wolgwang Reminds me...have you watch that Richard Feynman interview about magnetism?
