@Becky李蓓 Unfortunately the SE staff member didn't explain it too well, but I have a feeling their unwillingness is partly due to the new stacks editor they're trying to roll out (meta.stackexchange.com/questions/360033/…). There's a lot of noise around its compatibility with MathJax, and furigana was brought up as well.
