Hello, I am new here and wanted to ask if the following question is ontopic. This seems to be the site most closely connected to servers and stuff, so I wished to try here first.

> I stumbled upon a website URL `https://hostname/path` where I can access pdf files stored on that URL on that server, by changing the URL every time. That is, I can access `https://hostname/path/A.pdf`, `https://hostname/path/B.pdf`, etc. **if** I know what the values for `A` and `B` are.

> Since they are all public files already, I want to know if it possible to get a list of all such public files stored on th
is it an ontopic question, and if not, where else can I ask it? please tell, thanks!

Sorry, but it's not really on topic, as you don't control the remote server, and it could be seen as a way to hack and find potential document from a server you don't control
for your question you can just use google, site:hostname file:pdf
The filter file: work pretty good if the file was indexed, if not then contact the server admin to know all files availables

I felt like a newbie, had to use a linux prompt to copy some files, had to google for the cp usage, hehe
it's nice to see the qnap nas offer the ssh access to it, so it's better than from the gui often
