Now, I think wd is better than the rest, and I am a not sure: should I get RED, SE or RE? RE is too expensive. RED I believe is like a green with different firmware (and I have 2 green giving me errors here)... Is SE any good?

I just want to store the data and I won't access them much. Any access will be read. Writes will be pretty rare.

Q: Hardware Acceleration for MD RAID?

Why does vmware always default num-lock to off on virtual machines? That's the opposite to every "real" computer, basically since num-lock was invented

When you're using the console from a laptop its incredibly frustrating having a NUMLOCK ON/OFF notification every time you mouse in/out of a vm

@Solignis Again, the LSI controller and ZFS offers you no benefit for your use case. You won't have write caching, which is BAD for virtualization. You'll need to use software RAID to boot the system and likely dedicate physical disks for booting. It's really not worth it. You could run ZFS atop your hardware RAID, using a single device, but you'd really need to have a specific reason for needing ZFS.
