A: to some of the elite members of the site

DilworthJust a small remark on your writing (I don't have enough reputation for comments). I think that one very strong reason that some people dislike your writing is that you use a very careless way of writing which is very weird. E.g., instead of writing "I don't ..." you write "don't ...". And you re...

dontcha just luv cyberspace endless entertainment HAHAHA
Hey @vzn, I just noticed your comment here:
hi, a fan of your blog & have commented there in past. question. wonder if you think Wolfram should be given any credit for promoting the algorithmic lens & what your opinion is on his contributions(?) to TCS. he seems not to be cited on your blog site (except in comments here) — vzn Jan 24 at 21:48
for some reason it didn't notify me when you posted it
I'd be happy to discuss some of my views on Wolfram, but I don't think that the comments below the moderation questionnaire are the right venue
you are welcome to start a discussion about this in the comments of the blog post you linked (or some other blog post you might find relevant) and I will participate there
just to keep to topics coherent and together in one place.

@artem how about just state your opinion right here =)
This might be the most relevant post for algorithmic lens discussion.

there is some brief refs to wolfram on tcs.se, some by me.
@vzn this thread is to discuss the election. I already feel bad for sidetracking it, but I didn't know how else to contact you. Don't want to sidetrack it more.

am aware of JeFFe's opinion in a significantly upvoted comment.
artem nobody is discussing the election here except for me :p
its a freeform chat jam ok?!?
@vzn I'd prefer to keep it on topic. I only stop by here to check if there is some election relevant notifications

gasp you just missed capitalizing a sentence dude, 50 lashes with a mortarboard tassel for you
lighten up dude, probably the only next announcement will be the winner
you might have it in the bag based on meta votes on the questionnaire...
your opinion on wolfram is on topic if you ask me. the de facto mod of this all-other-absentee chat room =)

how about this !!!
a rare gem
It's not "problems with grammar", it's a different style. It's like saying that a native speaker makes "mistakes" speaking their own language, while in fact either language is changing, or there is regional variance. In this case, it's vzn's idiomatic style. — Yuval Filmus Oct 25 '13 at 17:53
holy cow!
could it be? no... understanding? tolerance? ... maybe even ... empathy?
alas, yuval seems to have much better things to do than screw around with meta melodrama... wonder if he participates in meta anywhere ... maybe that is a real zen master ... embracing the emptiness HAHAHA
hence my nominating him...
its a freakin miracle r. hasnt deleted that comment, eeeks, now still hope it doesnt go poof
used the word "brainwashing" above in quotes.... does sound kinda harsh maybe...?
reminds me of something... hmmm... deja vu all over again?
in Computer Science, 2 days ago, by Raphael
@Juho I think that's mainly an issue with newcomers that are not TCS researchers. Those that are have been "brainwashed" (for lack of a better word), that is have an intuitive understanding of what's appropriate to ask and what not. (Soft questions are maybe an exception.)
oh yeah! thats the guy who criticized my introduction to the group on meta. dang!
the 1st question for candidate mods....
flunked! at least it was quick and relatively painless... hahaha
huh, just doesnt seem really passionate about tcs.se anymore.... answered my recent question, what a nice guy....
postdoc at IAS. impressive
holy freakin cow 29k on cs.se
see if I was a mod, that might bother me a little... he seems incredibly helpful but a little overqualified over there on that site overrun with undergraduate homework "dumps"... kinda a teeny )( waste of talent...?
but @#%& if anyone bothers me again in this chat room about my style am gonna have to paste in the same picture from over on cs.se.... =|
so r. is quite the HardNose himself on meta/chat.... yikes... but...
19.5k, great stuff.... just said over in chat he manages ~10TAs or something
youd think someone who left tcs.se quite awhile back might not still be so emotional about it... oh yeah saw some of those reasons stated in chat...
anyway, it seems there could be some small evidence that tcs.se aint all that great even for the phds....! like dilworth is pointing out on meta.... "out of the mouths of babes"....

I am just saying the general attitude that cs.SE topic stuff is off-topic there, even if it is an advanced question, there are always people just looking to match it to the pattern of "It isn't theoretical!! got one!"
in Computer Science, Jan 23 at 15:27, by Realz Slaw
@Raphael and considering that cstheory started when there was no cs.SE, that is really snobbish
not that tcs.se members seem to care a whole lot about their group reputation...

@RealzSlaw I have only two users in mind who I have had problems with. One has very strong opinions (which is fair) that oppose mine more often than not, and the other has an acute self-inflation problem.

looking at the questionnaire.
AK 6
LR 4
SN 4
so maybe it will be close for 2nd place.
but, probably low votes...? it will be very interesting to see election votes vs meta votes.... maybe some will vote without paying much attn or voting on meta...?
