The motive of the so-called 3 truth theory is to establish Brahman being unaware of the phenomenal world. We have to understand the version of Shankara's three truth theory.
In most of the works of Shankara, he clearly expounds Brahman being aware of the phenomenal world as a dream. But modern Advaitins, in pretext of 3 truth theories, claims that the absolute Brahman isn't even aware of the phenomenal world, it's only Ishwara (Saguna Brahman) who is aware of the phenomenal world.

@Mr.Sigma. here's the problem, you are confusing awareness with knowledge. Chit and Jnana. Brahman is only aware of phenomenal existence.
@Mr.Sigma. Brahman doesn't know and understand everything, because knowing and understanding requires mind, logic and memory which Brahman simply doesn't have. He experiences everything, but is not omniscient as there is no science in him, as he doesn't have mind. Omniscience belomgs to Ishwara. Afaik, wherever Shankara says Brahman knows phenomenal world he means Brahman is aware, it isprobably a Sanskrit translational error.
@Mr.Sigma. Moreover the problem is it would be totally inconsistent for Advaita to hold Brahman is omniscient. The problem is if Brahman is omniscient and if you are really Brahman then you should also be omniscient, which demonstrably false. Now people can wrongly argue that their Omniscience is covered by ignorance, ok then what is the solution, the solution according to Advaita is knowledge. But Brahman already knows everything, if this is so then the knowledge of Advaita is also present.
@Mr.Sigma. so you can't be in illusion of you are truly Brahman. Do you see the problem?? Moreover this is a very basic and well understood problem in Advaita, There are five koshas, Annamaya, Pranamaya, Manomaya, Vijnanamaya and Anandamaya. If you refer to the works like Vivekachudamani and Tattva Bodha which are reputed to be of Shankaracharya, then you will see that he says that Brahman is different from all these 5 koshas
