@BrianBallsun-Stanton Got any experience on pixies using other PCs as mounts?

@BESW only in theory

So far as I can tell (DMG 46 Encounters with PC Mounts is key), both pixie and mount get turns, both can use move actions to take advantage of the mount's move speed, and the mount gets to use the pixie's skill check bonuses but not take advantage of, for example, feats that let the pixie re-roll Acrobatics.

okay, first, other PCs don't have the "mount" keywords

@BrianBallsun-Stanton Yeah, but that's not needed to ride a creature like a mount, it just means the PC doesn't have mount traits or powers the pixie can take advantage of with the Mounted Combat feat.

right.
I'd basically say that the pixie is "grabbed" for all intents and purposes by the mounted PC
except for the whole "just flying away" thing
but that's an off-the-cuff ruling
that'd make a good question

11:30 PM
@BrianBallsun-Stanton Definitely! I'm trying to do my due diligence research first.

I know of no rulings on this

@BrianBallsun-Stanton All I can find is three insufficient and speculative paragraphs on DMG 46 that don't tell me if they overrule the standard mount rules or simply coexist with them.

@BESW This doesn't sound quite right to me. I would suggest that they have to share the movement ie. the pair can only move in one or the other of the players turns.

Also, I'm very thankful the pixie isn't a paladin:
Holy Steed
Benefit: While you are mounted, your mount gains a +2 bonus to all defenses and a bonus to damage rolls equal to your Charisma modifier.
@BrianBallsun-Stanton That's a good place to start, cool.

@BESW Actually, I'd have to agree too.

11:37 PM
@somori Yeah, I'm getting visions of a pixie on a halfling on a human on a horse flitting around the battlefield like a totem pole of Flashes.

@BESW There's an old german folk tale that's very similar but with farmyard animals.

@somori I think I saw a terrifying animated retelling of that once.

@BESW But anyway... only letting the independently mobile member of that tower of doom move around makes sense.

@somori But this is 4e, and sense isn't a keyword.

Sensible as a synonym for balanced anyway.

11:44 PM
@somori Yey!
However, I'd really be kind of okay with ruling it RAW for all that movement.
We've got a monk kobold who specializes in being to move Anywhere He Wants, Any Way He Wants, and it's honestly not that broken in combat.
(Also: pit traps.) [cackles]
Now and for a LIMITED TIME ONLY before the nerf: STACKABLE PARTIES! They wibble, they wobble, they move incredibly fast! Watch out for that pit!

@BESW Goes well with the exploding wizards campaign idea.

@somori Actually, it's RAW so far as I can tell.
It's not move actions all the way down. The pixie don't grant the gnome a move action he can use to grant the gnoll a move action to make the horse move.
If the pixie tried to use his move action on the Tower O' Heroes, you'd wind up with a faceplanted gnome, an irritated pixie, a laughing gnoll, and a spooked horse.

Well, a pixie could use a move action to draw or sheathe a weapon, or to dismount. But he couldn't force the tower to move.
