Q: Can PCs earn more than skilled laborers?

User 23415According to the Player's Handbook: A skilled (but not exceptional) artisan can earn one gold piece a day. I'd assume that this describes PCs who are proficient with a type of artisan's tools. However, according to the crafting rules in the Player's Handbook: For each day you spend crafting, y...

Q: Is it reasonable to argue that my party should start with inspiration, since I have the Musician feat?

User 23415I chose the 1st-level feat Musician for my bard that I'm going to play in the campaign I'm starting. This feat is from the One D&D playtest, and reads like this: Musician Instrument Training. You gain Tool Proficiency with three Musical Instruments of your choice. Inspiring Song. As you finish...

Hi all,
I have a question. I'm a (very) inexperienced GM – basically, I ran "Amazing Tales" for my kids a few times (and we all loved it).
Now, I've just finished reading "The Six Bullerby Children" to my 7yo son, and he literally cried because the book ended. I was wondering, why not have an RPG session in the world of that book? It doesn't even have to have real "adventures", a "slice of life" type "adventure" would be enough, I think.
Does anyone know about anything like that? Any advice for me if I decide to try to think it up myself?

I had the chance to chat with Brendan about his experiences with TTRPGs since he was a kid and about all the wonderful RPGs he's created and been part of. He shares his XP with us here as we talk about Avatar Legends, Root RPG, Masks: A New Generation, and his personal words of advice and wisdom. Q: How to design a superhero rpg around a certain power level?

user8600A common thing in superhero rpgs is that they're designed for all characters to be within a specific power range, mainly for balance purposes and not having to deal with absurd situations like Aunt May being able to beat the Juggernaut in an arm-wrestling contest. Common categories are low-level,...

Q: Is there any reason to use the Battle Master fighter's Precision Attack maneuver before the attack roll?

FerventHippoThe Battle Master fighter's Precision Attack maneuver states the following (PHB, p. 74): When you make a weapon attack roll against a creature, you can expend one superiority die to add it to the roll. You can use this maneuver before or after making the attack roll, but before any effects of th...

Q: What happens if the Maze spell is cast in Sigil?

JabbamonkeyI'm curious about casting the Maze spell in the city of Sigil.... In Planescape: Adventures in the Multiverse – Sigil and the Outlands, the "Alterations to Magic" section states: Banishment. Effects that banish a target from Sigil treat the target as if Sigil were its home plane. However, the M...
