Q: Is there a way to change your vote when you think better of it?

Groody the HobgoblinI have some answers that I voted on when I had a different understanding of the rules from what I have now. Rereading them, I believe my original vote was incorrect. Here is an example, where I downvoted, but I now think the answer is correct, and would like to change my vote. However, since the ...

How's tricks?

Is it only mods that can summon users to be allow to speak in chat?
@Party._Rocker
yea, guess so
@goodguy5 if they have been in chat within the last time, anyone can
I meant to invite users under the 20 rep limit.
ugh, I'm 50 dnd5e posts away from the shiny gold 5e badge
oh, you can'T get those into chat normally unless it is in the discussion on their answer or question
15:55
New OneD&D playtest just dropped.
Warlocks are half casters now.
Wizards can create new spells
Barbarians and Fighters [and presumably Monks, but they weren't featured] get Weapon Mastery, which seems cool but needs further development. Fighters also get the ability to change weapon masteries/get multiple masteries.

@Xirema "Always has been" meme
rpg.stackexchange.com/a/205906/27388 This would be more clear if MtG rules applied in D&D lol
17:36
Although I could be wrong about this one, too
The other I'll take a mea culpa on. I was mostly trying to get ahead of answers attempting to debate one way vs the other and not wanting to see that here.
17:56
I agree with Grody on this one.

Three discreet items is fine
I really disagree. They each have different ways of interacting with those rules.
Some things apply to some and not all, and we generally do one question for one thing. This isn't grouped in that each fall under similar rules, each falls under their own rulesets.
That may be.

I'll agree that if it were three questions, I certainly wouldn't suggest they be merged.
Nets are one thing, ranged blowguns another, and finally unarmed strikes are really something different.
But it's a specific character need and it's very narrow
it's a specific character need?
17:59
Seems like it. I haven't sat down for a beer with TieflingDragon84, but It's an oddly specific question.
Maybe it's just mathematical dweebery, but imo, it's very narrow
I'm not so hot on making assumptions about goals. It's really just three separate questions. But if the community thinks otherwise, that's okay, too!
I guess the line for multiple questions is blurry, but in this case because the target items are so different, that's why I don't think it makes sense to be one.
What if it were worded

"How to increase damage for weapons (and weapon like attacks) that deal either 0 or 1 damage?"
I'd probabyl ask what they're talking about so we can answer it specifically.
But I'm a stickler for understanding what specifically someone is trying to figure out.
If they really want to know how all three work...then that's three questions.
Given their rapid fire question asking, that also doesn't seem to be a problem.
And it's more rep generation for everyone.
@NautArch and then they'd say "unarmed strikes, blowguns, and nets"
Instead of forcing answerers to supply all three separate answers.
18:03
Now you've got thirdent guessing myself
hehe :)
that's why it's good to discuss!
yea, but you already had me second guess myself and I came back to my original conclusion
well poop
Either way, a good answer needs to address all three in my opinion. I know others disagree with that one, but for me if a question has multiple parts, answers need to address all (which is also a problem with a multi-question question...what am I voting on for answers)
lemme get some water and think about this. Remember there's an organic part of the stack that necessitates some flexibility. These are human users, afterall, not AI prompts that we can simply dismiss.
I'm not that's why I explain why i vote and what should happen.
Humans are fallible and can change when prompted with new information.

unrelated to this, Naut, how old are you?
I ask because of a specific phrase you used.

Q: How do multiple Star Spawn Hulk interact with zone psychic damage?

MatthieuThe Star Spawn Hulk has the following feature : Psychic Mirror. If the hulk takes psychic damage, each creature within 10 feet of the hulk takes that damage instead; the hulk takes none of the damage. The situation where multiple hulks stand next to each others and one of them takes psychic dam...

@goodguy5 mid to late 40s
@NautArch My overunder was 50 on that. "Mea Culpa" was the phrase.
@goodguy5 haha. I use that way too much.
I'm an old soul.
@NautArch

I'm looked over this and I have, for a third time, affirmed that the question about blowguns, nets, and fists (oh my!) is fine and not too broad.

Q: Is our interpretation of "too broad" too narrow?

Dale MBackground As suggested by @doppelgreener I am posing this question here in response to the closure of How does surprise work in D&D 5e? Please accept and remember that I do not believe and I do not wish to infer that the people I mention who hold different opinions from me are in any way actin...

note: I don't care about the actual question in question, but rather the rpg.stack guidelines laid out neatly in that meta
18:21
@goodguy5 I think it's on the line. Be interesting to see where community ends up, but guessing it'll remain open.
But nice if answers DID cover all three aspects, though.
@NautArch definitely agree.
I'm surprised that there's no "Barbed Net"
18:33
I"m less than enthused with One D&D. I"ll probably just stick to 5e and continue my shift to other games.

@NautArch after quadruple thinking, I think I agree with you
Give it some more time :P
maybe on the quintuple, I'll bring us both back to my side
We do have the unenviable problem of an incomplete only answer to a closed question.
I have linked 3 answers to that question
Almost like it's a dupe.
19:53
I said I agreed!
hahaha
nono, i mean seriously, we should flag for dupe closure with all of those.
i think.
Another voice would be helpful (besides the one in my head)
20:56
feel free to flag this comment for mod attention
note: The above 3 links should answer all parts of this question @mods — goodguy5 20 secs ago

@goodguy5 That's a flaggin'. Or a flagon. with a dragon?
I swear I'm not over 50.
