@Alan Sadly wrong game for me^^

@Trish pf2, or Eduquest: The hunt for a Ph.D. in Education :)?

though for your illusion question: there are feats that interact with illusions, such as always seeing them, and you can disbelief an illusion. However that is not possible with a transmutation, it doesn't trigger those.

Yeah, I get that's the reason for having it work like a transmutation. I'm just wondering if they also get to transmute their clothes and stuff, which is NOT a normal thing for Kitsune to do.

Well, there is the actual problem where I am beyond what I know^^ I know the interaction of illusions, and figured why the transmutation part is there, but the other part requires to know what the designer wants, which is HARD.

if transmutation isn't overpowered you're doing it wrong

Q: What happens to gear/clothing with pathfinder 2e Kitsune Change shape ability? (Or other polymorph effects in general)

AlanI was trying to search on the Archives of Nethys for what happens to a character's clothing/gear when they use change shape . I couldn't find anything on the specific ability or even polymorph rules and transmutation rules in general, so I must be missing something! The only other theory I could...

Q: Kitsune in Pathfinder 2e Myriad forms: Two tailless forms?

AlanThe kitsune racial feat Myriad forms allows you to: With a bit of self-discovery, you find a new form. You gain the alternate form of a kitsune heritage other than your own, adding it to the options for your Change Shape. The heritages give you either a fox form or a tailless form, so I imagine...

@Joshua Yeah, one of the crazier chars in my old PF1 game was a gish who transmuted himself into all kinds of crazy stuff.

@Alan It isn’t necessary to state the game system in the title of the question, I’ve adjusted several of your question titles to read a bit smoother.

@ThomasMarkov Check.

@ThomasMarkov @Alan mind helping me out? I need ann example of people describing an action in different ways. The premise for the pose (let's call it like that) is, your rogue wants to open a lock. How would you phrase that to your GM? Assume you got tools as needed.

@Trish I carefully examine the area approaching the lock for anything out of the ordinary. Then ever so gently I insert one pick, listening and feeling for any signs of a trap. If I don't sense something wrong, I drop to one knee before the door to bring my eyes closer to the lock as I pull out another pick, using the pair to slowly probe the inner workings of the mechanism, waiting until I hear the tumblers settle into place

Q: How does the Savage Attacker feat interact with fighter's martial architype Vigilant Defender?

Dasmowenator Savage Attacker Once per turn when you roll damage for a melee weapon attack, you can reroll the weapon's damage dice and use either total. Vigilant Defender Starting at 18th level, you respond to danger with extraordinary vigilance. In combat, you get a special reaction that you can take once...

Q: Thaumaturge : Do temporary scrolls cost anything to make?

AlanA Thamumaturge with the scroll esoterica feat chain gets to make temporary scrolls daily. A: Do you need to pay the usual GP cost to do so, under crafting scrolls . Considering the effects are to give you more versatile but lower level spells per day than a spellcrafter dedication and the fluff...

@Trish I will punch the door with my thieves tools.

@ThomasMarkov Ok... uh... Roll me a... strength check with... I guess you get proficiency bonus on that one.

It won’t budge. The lock is too strong.
@Trish That’s an actual thing I’ve said before. But roleplaying like that is table specific, I’ve can pretty easily adjust the way I narrate actions based on the table’s style.
I’ve played in many games where my narration looks a lot more like the detail given by Alan.

1:20 PM
@ThomasMarkov I know, I just wanted a random thing for the same action of opening a lock in some way or another (and with that rather unexpected suggestion I then improvised)
it's still a valid - if unexpected - way to narrate how the thief tries to open the lock, in this case, you'd probably call it forcing the lock or breaking the lock.

@Trish and then the next time I’d be careful to phrase in such a way to use dexterity.

heh, yep.

Yeah, I went with the text base rpg setup. If it were a game like Exalted, I'd have gone with stuff to narrate just how freaking awesome I was doing it to get a stunt bonus. If it were Fate, I'd narrate how I was using the scene aspects and/or my own aspects to make it easier.
Fate: Given my "Eye for detail", I carefully observe the lock before I start to work on it. Because we called in a false alarm, I take advantage of "The guards are distracted" to take my time.
And Exalted, well....the sky is the limit on just how silly/anime/cool you make your stuff sound for stunt bonuses, especially if you use the details of the sscene
But yeah, at a lot of D&D style tables its "I check for traps, then pick the lock"

Meanwhile, I thought of a natural extension to my question rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/204523/… , but probably should wait depending on the answer. Because if it turns out you can extend spell duration that way, my mind then goes: "Well, what if the caster dies and therefore never has a daily preparation again?" :)

@Alan that's how much the game allows the players to do stuff. Exalted explicitly tells you "invent s*** that is awesome".

5:47 PM
@Trish Yep. Similar with Fate, both systems pretty much require narrative techniques to what you do.

@Alan still, group concensus how much is ok^^

only with Fate, not over the top, more grounded in characters and the cene
Oh definitely
@Trish Of course, that's right along with Rule 0. Maybe Rule 0.5 :).

Q: Can a vampire rest in a coffin in a bag of holding?

Brian WestermanI'm thinking about my vampire organization - if they have placed a coffin inside a bag of holding (sized to fit) and then climb inside, do they have a portable place to rest?

Everyone always forgets about the maximum dimensions of a bag of holding, all they look at his the weight.
Can't believe I wasted time looking up casket statistics...okay, back to my school research
