Ah ok that's not as bad then 😅
I'd honestly say that personally, a plot twist like that would keep me entertained :D

Q: When making ranged spell attacks with a bow (The Ranger) do you use you dexterity or wisdom Mod?

jazzSo I started playing a Homebrew recently and the DM has a set of Ranged-spells attacks that require a bow (I already have one). One of the spells is as stated: For the duration of this spell you create two wispy arrows notched into your bow that reappear each time you attack. Whenever you attack...

@SuperNine09 Sounds a bit cliche. Surprise twists that are un-anticipateable are less fun or not fun. Especially if there should have been moments previously that the payers could have figured it out, but since it's bolted on at the end those weren't described or now have to be retcon'd. The best twists are the ones where the reader or player can think back and realize "oh! that's why these things were happening!"
Working for a vampire is probably easier to bolt on and avoid having to retcon all the times where the NPC should have been identifiable as a vampire.

I've shown times in the stories where he could have potentially been a Vampire. It shouldn't be much of a surprise.
Maybe a little for some players, but I think that one of them has caught on. He is very smart for just starting the game.

Updated
I'd like it to be tidier but I'm not sure how
Alternately, the party figures out that he's a vampire, but not in a way that immediately triggers a fight. They then have the opportunity to choose options like
- fight him
- out him to the community
- follow him into the Shadowfell, eyes open, ready to both betray him and deal with the larger vampire threat

I just realised the updated version is unreadable due to the low resolution
Suffice to say, I learned a bunch of illusion spells are pretty much not what I'd call illusions
Also Illusory dragon and mislead give me headaches

@AncientSwordRage Not only can I not zoom in, I'm a bit annoyed that I tried to use the buttons.
Mislead is my favorite spell!
I've trivialized a Chase encounter by rounding a corner, casting Mislead, and then having my duplicate make all those complicated jumps and climbs throughout the city without having to make any skill checks.
I handed the DM a note prior that let him know I was doing it, so not even the party knew that it was my duplicate.
I got somewhere high enough to see from the roof tops and lead the pursuers away from the party by just barely being the closest one to "catch"

Q: What references should I use for how Fae look in urban shadows games?

javirsI'm aware the answer is always: ask the Fae player. The problem is that no one in my gaming group knows where to start. We are Spaniards using the Spanish version of the game and, in this copy, they use the word "hada". In Spanish, this word is only used for fairies like the tooth fairy or Tinker...

@Axoren I'll get a better version tomorrow insha'Allah
The exact reason it's so good is also why it's annoying to put on that flowchart, it does so much!

A lot of Illusions spells do so much more than you think when you combine them together. For example, using Phantasmal Force as an interrogation tool.
You don't have to hurt people, you just have to convince them that what you've got will hurt them a lot more than it does.
For example, I've used Phantasmal Force to hold someone at knife point. The 1d6 damage never needed to factor in because they thought they were about to lose their head.
