I have a first-level character who would like to keep a journal, but is on a very tight budget, and I am dissatisfied with the idea of using charcoal, given how easily it smudges and smears in real life. The PFSRD has this to offer for writing utensils:
Chalk (1 cp)

If my gaming group wanted to adapt a Pathfinder 2E AP (e.g. Strength of Thousands), what are the difficulties? We're very familiar with 1E but only lightly so far with 2E.
Is there a reasonable way to adapt encounters to 1E Challenge Ratings?
A Cleric that is concentrating on a Bless spell is hit by a Mummy Lord's Rotting Fist. The Cleric takes the damage (14 bludgeoning + 21 necrotic on average). Rotting Fist has a second effect: "If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or be cursed with mumm...
O.o... "I SERIOUSLY believe the auth-token has problems... I managed to send an answer I begun 3 hours ago and which was closed an hour ago... minutes ago.
I am unsure if this fits RPG.se well enough, so I am asking it on meta to check before I do post it. If this is not quite a good fit, that's fine. The initial question is as follows:
Background
I am making an RPG that uses poker/Yahtzee like hands from die rolls instead of the normal "dice+mods v...
@Trish there is some leeway between the server and client checking if an answer is allowed on a closed post

No, that is eminently sometimes possible.

It does mean the user intentionally ignored the popup warnings t...
A bad Auth token is probably the least likely explanation
Anyone here play 3.5e? I might be playing a game, and I have only minimal knowledge of the system. I want to make an assassin type that fights with pistols, and is stealthy and good at deception and disguise. I know that the class system in 3.5e is a bit more complex: in 5e, I’d go rogue, but is there a better class in 3.5e for that build?
I think with a good enough idea of what you're going for (and your table's power level?) that should work fine on the stack (where I know there's a couple of players able to give you good and detailed advice for it)
I, being the DM, have always some problems to apply the magic world of DnD onto the real world, which is the base of our common understanding of how things works. Especially, since I experienced players who just wanted to kill kings to take over their kingdom, purely acting on impulse. Now I stum...
I have what is chiefly a probability / game-design query, but one with a clear RPG gaming purpose behind it.
Assume I have a check in some game system, using a single 20-sided dice, that requires rolling greater than or equal to a target number. That target number starts at 20, but with every sub...
Are there any possible ways to get access to Incendiary Aura without:
Using the Oracle class (with Flames mystery)
Using the Oracle archetype (Oracle Dedication with Flames mystery + First Revelation)
?
I have been buried in Fizban's lately.... I want to make a campaign where the BBEG is actually the conniving [Insert adjective here] Dragon from the beginning - they wake up in his cave, he's playing some mind games on them to test them, then asks for their help once they've proved their mettle.
And I don't know which one I want to go with... Green, Elder Brain Dragon, or one of the Gem Dragons...
That then also plays into why this dragon is looking to control several adventurers anyway... An Elder Brain Dragon would obviously be looking for more victims (and the adventurers potentially wouldn't know they're already part of the Hive Mind?)... Maybe the green dragon is looking for a big and badder lair...?
@Ben a blue most likely if you want to play more into the evil tricks stuff...not sure what Gem would be good if you wanted this to be more benign though
Was thinking that... Was also thinking a Green - that way the party would be the means to the end, and therefore willing to dispose of them once the goal is met
So I came home from retreat with strep throat. I’ve been sick all week and so today is just a photodump from retreat so have fun with that. Lots of redwoods!
All 3 of the reactions of a good champion include the wording "resistance against the triggering damage", written in different ways. So a player of mine and I were debating about what is the "triggering damage" and what damage is actually reduced. Let's say that an enemy strikes a PC with a flami...
