@AncientSwordRage just some DM in a university server who wanted to play for once, and another random dude we recruited so there would be more than a single player
@AncientSwordRage Going invisible or teleporting, even short distances, could help someone who needed a quiet place/to not be the center of attention
00:26
@bobble that's a great idea
All kinds of spells! darkness for light sensitivity, light and produce flame for people who struggle with manipulating flint or matches or holding a candle safely, overland flight is probably great for traveling with chronic fatigue...
You could make arguments for spells like resistance to help conserve spoons, and absorb elements to endure painful temperature changes...
Low-level divination spells could help anticipate triggers so the person is prepared for them.
There's several spells that could serve as assistive devices for nonverbal people, depending on need and circumstance.
I imagine a lot of spells would be great for stimming.
Skill bonus spells could be argued to be general-purpose aids.

Q: Adventure that introduced "banks" that cost money to store items

Sean DugganWhen I was a young child (around the mid 1980s to the mid 1990s), I read a number of AD&D modules, albeit without much of a chance to actually play them. Recently, when reading the TV Tropes entry for In-Game Banking Services, I was suddenly reminded of reading a module that had a set of availabl...

Are there any good online sheet makers that allow artificers in 5e?
02:23
@AncientSwordRage Weirdly, the 'moving an object' use of prestidigitation was expressly removed in errata for the 4e printing, and that was the only adjustment to the spell.
02:34
btw, the back room froze
02:46
(I should clarify: the only adjustment in the errrata.)
03:26
dunno about your artificer question, but how've things been otherwise @TheDragonOfFlame?

Q: Are there situations where high damage single attacks are better than multiple attacks that add up to more damage overall?

user2754In 3.5e/PF/other games, there are significant numbers of abilities that reduce damage by a flat value (DR 5/magic etc). In 5E, very few abilities/monsters seem to have flat damage reducers, instead either having Resistance (halving), Immunity (ignoring), or nothing. I can't find any particular b...

@PD-whee-whim-wish that is weird

Q: Arcane Trickster Ranged Legerdemain and Magic Items

InterstellarProbeI am playing an Arcane Trickster, and my group is having a discussion about Ranged Legerdemain. According to the one of the other members of the group, because Mage Hand is a prerequisite for the class, Ranged Legerdemain works as an "upgrade" to it. Therefore, it cannot be used to steal magic it...

Q: Can a fighter learn to use firearms despite them only recently being invented by another member of the party

ACartonOfEggNoggRecently, after one of our PC's fell off a mountain we welcomed a new fighter to our party, hailing from a far-off land. Our party is all level 3. I'm playing a dwarf artillerist artificer. My character is the only person (that we know of) to have invented firearms. Given their novelty and effect...

@Shalvenay pretty all good :)
@Shalvenay Oh no!
@ThomasMarkov we have a small, activist meta, which happily wrecks the user experience for the larger community based on their own unpredictable aesthetic preferences. I have no idea what they will do next week. For an example, take a look at the “we” you just cited: it’s twelve guys. Many of whom likely left SE years ago. — fectin 4 mins ago
This was quite the hot take
15:05
Don't discount the optics that the Stack invites: meta's relatively obscurity and its confusing and undefined decision-making process, lends it to still appearing like a cabal even when it isn't actually becoming one--and it does have that tendency as well.
I had the strangest deja vu from those two comments
It sounds very like a situation we had some years ago.
(And honestly the only reason meta "allowed" system tags to substitute for question text is that anything else was obviously unenforceable.)

@AncientSwordRage i need help ASAP
@AncientSwordRage i've been having some major health issues and i want to start working on my will
@Catofdoom2 you need to find a medical professional and a legal professional
@AncientSwordRage i already have a doctor. opprations set-up etc
That's great
@AncientSwordRage but worse case sceniro y'know?
@AncientSwordRage soooo... you don't know how to right a will oooor...?
16:22
@Catofdoom2 that's literally something you need a solicitor for
@Catofdoom2 you write a will by consulting with a legal professional.
That said, as a minor, state law may preclude you from having a will.
Generally speaking, one cannot have a will until they are 18 (in the US)
@ThomasMarkov I'm guessing a legal professional would know for sure

Q: Ranged Echo Knight and melee Opportunity Attacks

BamischijfOne of my players is a level 5 Echo Knight with the Thrown Weapon fighting style. Their primary source of damage is their bow. However, they utilize the ability to draw a weapon with the thrown property as part of the attack to make opportunity attacks with their Echo. My question therefore is, w...

@TheDragonOfFlame the dbd one is actually decent.
20:11
@Akixkisu I am really surprised at how well the whole character creation to management experience was put together.
And thinking about it, if next iterations ever go in the pick from a menu style creation, then it'll work beautifully.
20:37
I agree, those tools work exceptionally well.
21:22
@Shalvenay problem is, I have a new player friend who wants to make an artificer. I don’t want to make them spend money
@TheDragonOfFlame Here you go. Link for them to join the stackizen campaign.
