Q: Can the "dragon-like scales" from the Draconic Bloodline sorcerer's Draconic Resilience feature be used as the M component for Aganazzar's Scorcher?

Ken AThe Draconic Bloodline sorcerer's Draconic Resilience feature states, in part: Additionally, parts of your skin are covered by a thin sheen of dragon-like scales. [...] The material component required to cast the Aganazzar's scorcher spell is one red dragon scale. If your Draconic Ancestry is t...

@NautArch I like it because I've found the total blank canvas of "what do you want the setting to be like" a little too much for people some times. Not that Microscope is any less blank, but it feels like you're looking at less of the canvas at a time, maybe?
@nitsua60 And we have a starting point - waterworld. Seafaring is desired!
It breaks the question into manageable chunks. The biggest most open-ended question is the first one, what kind of arc is your history about? and even that is still bounded within the idea that it's an arc of history where one thing changes to something else but you're not allowed to be detailed, which lets a lot of ideas fly fast and loose.
After that, everything is built off the established bits. Given the arc you've chosen, what are expected things you don't want to include, and unexpected things you'd like to see? and so on.
The more detail and commitment your choices are expected to include, the more established material you have to inspire you.

Q: How to speed up combat by helping players to visualize the scene?

JackWe play D&D 5e over Discord, using voice and chat channels, and use D&D Beyond for character sheets and most die-rolling. It generally works great, but sometimes combats lag, reasons for which the GM and I have discussed privately. There are numerous factors, some of which may be discussed with t...

Somebody needs to check if this asker is using "D&D" to mean some category of "TRPG."
06:19
There's a ton of TRPGs with that kind of system; just... not D&D-likes, mostly.

@BESW The Dark Eye has an Ausdauer tracker, and each maneuver spends some, depending on how hard it is more or less. It's highly optional though.
10:27
3e experimented with some similar class-specific concepts toward the end of its life, but nothing like, say, En Garde!
10:50
in TDE 4, the tracker is in from the start, but all rules that use that tracker are optional... well, but for the brawl rules, which inflict damage on that tracker instead of the health tracker.

I am unsure if adding WoD to a question already having WtA and WtA20 is necessary.. rpg.stackexchange.com/review/suggested-edits/78538

Hi and welcome! Take a seat, make yourself at home, take the tour and have a look around at some other questions. I think what could help us answer is knowing exactly what you mean by 'D&D-based'. Do you mean it uses d20 + a number? Or do you mean it has D&D classes? There's a ton of RPGs out there that could helpful that aren't D&D or its clones. What about D&D are you most focused on? Please do edit that information in. — AncientSwordRage 23 secs ago
I don't know how many accounts, and never taken the tour...
> Say if you help a project reach say 50 more backers in a certain locale, because you’ve built up a newsletter a community, you can feel confident that you will be rewarded. The rules are written into something that is not just controlled by Kickstarter, but it’s controlled by everybody who participates in the system.
That's certainly a point of view
You don't need a Blockchain for that... 🙃

Does anybody know why I can no longer see the Related and Linked lists at the bottom of a post? They just, aren't there anymore
Mobile or narrow view I assume? They've always been in the sidebar for me
I can see them on Meta but on Main, they're no longer shown
@Exempt-Medic Ctr + F5 ?
I'm on my phone
They should be there, just below the bulletin board
12:06
@Someone_Evil Oddly enough, they used to show up on mobile view but about a week ago they stopped doing so and I have to awkwardly open desktop view on my phone
And now they don't exist even in desktop view
@Someone_Evil Weird, ive just got featured on Meta and HNQ
Guess I'll wait a bit and see if it gets fixed and if not, I can report it... I think

Q: How to tell size category of an object?

Noname NonamowskyArtificers "Magical tinkering" ability says You’ve learned how to invest a spark of magic into mundane objects. @Exempt-Medic that would make more sense, but I'm not ruling it out

Q: Can party-members close their eyes when hearing a code phrase to prevent effect of spell Hypnotic Pattern

qsdOur caster worked out a strategy with the other party members. When we are overrun during combat, just before casting/releasing Hypnotic Pattern, he says the code phrase 'the sky is blue'. This signals everyone to close their eyes. I think the caster can close his eyes (as he knows exactly when t...
