@BESW so what ratio of vinegar to soap to fruit are we talking?

Q: My characters, though different classes/races/etc., always seem to have similar personalities. Is this a problem, and, if so, how can I fix it?

Joel DerfnerThis is a question about something I've noticed in my own play style, asked because I want to make sure that I and those I play with enjoy the game as much as possible. I played AD&D and 2e ten thousand years ago, and have been back, with 5e, for about six months. This time around I've played a b...

The idea is, the vinegar and fruit smells attract the flies, the shape of the bottle keeps them from leaving immediately, and the soap traps and kills them (breaking surface tension so they can't float, and gumming up breathing holes)
You don't need much soap. I usually put a bit of water, a couple splashes of vinegar, a few little chunks of fruit, and a very small squirt of soap.

@BESW so as I thought, the soap is basically the "poison" to kill then a bit quicker?

Right, 'cause starving them would be unnecessarily cruel and give them more opportunities to find the exit.
And I add enough water to the mixture to raise the level to an inch or two from the bottom of the funnel, so they have less room to move freely.

Nice :)
I'll be setting that up today, so I'll let you know how it goes!

Of course, the bait should focus on whatever you've seen the bugs going after in your house.
I usually make two or three and put them near where I've seen the bugs.

Q: Do the criteria that cause the Enchantment wizard's Hypnotic Gaze feature to end early also apply to the initial effect (i.e. within 1 round)?

Guillaume F.The School of Enchantment wizard's level 2 feature, Hypnotic Gaze, can incapacitate a creature until the Wizard's next turn: Starting at 2nd level when you choose this school, your soft words and enchanting gaze can magically enthrall another creature. As an action, choose one creature that you ...

@Medix2 Enlightenment has been achieved. 😊
@ThomasMarkov Not sure if you were around for the mod hate during the first two years I was on the site, but there was ample disagreement then also. You can probably search the key word "Exception Handler" for some of the more interesting metas, but a lot of the comments got nuked on some of those discussions.
@V2Blast That was an enjoyable movie.
@Adeptus There is a kind of hot hard candy called fireballs. Weave them into your story somehow, I suggest. 😂
@nitsua60 hearing spell jammer rumors about the next release, and I think I recall you liking that part of 2e. Am I remembering correctly?

Q: Can a player begin and end its movement inside a swarm's space and not incur an opportunity attack?

The GrumbleputtyDirk, Hermes, Necryx, Jomil and Sing Lore- avert your eyes, or incur the wrath of Spuggroth the Humbled and Aflame! I'm designing an encounter where the party is trying to confront some foes in the midst of a massive bar fight, which I'm thinking of treating as two gargantuan, overlapping swarms ...
