@MarkWells Totes agree
@MarkWells I've actually started this thing where I lay off sarcasm entirely, at least online where I have the privilege of thinking about what I say when I type
I'm a member of a community where there's a lot of politics involved and there's a ton of trolls trolling trolls and it's not even funny

4 hours ago, by AncientSwordRage
Where it says "You can then teleport", if I choose not to, do I stay unseen?

6:19 PM
@AncientSwordRage Stack has definitely opted to read "can" as optional on other questions.
I'm looking forward to @MarkWells' answer

6:32 PM
We got a spam post, go delete.

@ThomasMarkov well, they do accredit themselves
so it's not really spam (which is unaccredited)

True.
Isn't the entire Acquisitions Incorporated book basically an answer to that question?

@ThomasMarkov dunno, that book doesn't exist in my universe
well crap, that's not true
but I don't know.

It's the one hardcover campaign setting I dont own.

I like AI more than Critical Role. I've gotten some neat ideas from them.

6:45 PM
AI specifically has rules for running an AI franchise, not generic rules for running businesses

@Someone_Evil Out of curiosity, would you have deleted that homebrew post if it didn't link to a store page but to a google doc or something?

As just link-only, you mean? Probably

Yeah. It seems pretty heavy for the delete, but the sales bit may have been the cause.
But a link-only answer deletion without the hiding of the content sseems more appropriate. But I also don't want a slippery slope of folks posting buy my paid-content answers.

Wait, did it hide the content? (it doesn't for diamonds, so it's harder to notice)

@Someone_Evil yeah, the Spam reason hides it

6:50 PM
Well, that wasn't my spam flags :)

And i'm totally fine with hiding it because it is both a link-only and an advertistement.

7:01 PM
@Someone_Evil I wasn't sure about dupes because it's only a piece of their question. There are other issues that need to be answered in there.
ALso chatting here rather than in comments to minimize new user confusion.

Agreed, I'm not entirely sure what the core issue is and thus what answers it. Probably better to treat as a check-of-rules-understanding (which basically means no dupes)
Their method has a problem with bonus action spellcasting too, no?

Q: Can a Battle Oracle take the Marshall dedication?

Ben R.When an Oracle chooses the Battle mystery, they become trained in all martial weapons belonging to a chosen weapon group (e.g. Sword, Axe). A requirement of the Marshall dedication is that the character is 'trained in martial weapons'. Is the Oracle therefore eligible to take the dedication, or w...

@Someone_Evil yeah, there' s a lot to break down in there

@Someone_Evil I think theyre triggering two glyphs with a command word, which isnt the same as casting a spell, I dont think.

Between their description of tenser's transformation, enchantments, and "quicken-step metamagic" is it possible there's edition-mangle in play (ie. they've found stuff for older editions and are applying it to 5e)?

7:09 PM
step may be an autocorrect of spel

Oh, right, all the metamagics include "Spell" in the name. That's a good possibility

@ThomasMarkov If you can run a campaign that lasts until level 17, I'll sign up with a ranger ... 😀

We level up every ten minutes just to keep the game moving

@kviiri Ah, playing Diablo III? 😎

@KorvinStarmast x)
Also happened in Borderlands IIRC! I recall it was actually my strategy to level-up in combats because it restores hit points to maximum.

7:25 PM
Heh Heh. :)

7:41 PM
@KorvinStarmast Level 17? that never happens!

8:17 PM
@RevenantBacon I am pretty sure that Naut was in one that went to 20. From levl 1.

8:30 PM
Hey, I'm working on Christmas present ideas for my dad, and he really likes malted milk flavors. Anyone know of any food items I can get for him? Candy, drink mixes, whatever. The only ones I know of are Ovaltine and Whoppers

@RevenantBacon Does you dad work out and drink protein shakes?

@ThomasMarkov No, definitely not

Then Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Chocolate Malt Flavor is probably out.

So far, I've been thinking along the lines of getting him just a bunch of different brands and varieties of malted-milk balls, like dark chocolate coated, tripple dipped, white chocolate coated, etc.

@RevenantBacon That sounds like a good approach. My wife, the dental professional, would cringe at all of that candy ...

8:35 PM
but I'm sure there must be some other kinds of stuff out there I can get him besides those
@KorvinStarmast I've been flossing, I swaer!

@RevenantBacon Your dad into beer?

user15026
@RevenantBacon I've seen cookies with that flavour, I believe.

@ThomasMarkov I guess you could say that, yeah. He mostly only drinks socially

Perrin Brewing has an imperial porter called Malted Milk Ball

but he'll have 2 or 3 when he does
Oh, that sounds cool

8:37 PM
Its 12%, so maybe just 1 at a time. One of these is 3 budweisers.

@ThomasMarkov LOL

2 hours later…
11:07 PM
@doppelgreener Thieves haven't been a problem in our games. But the second person winning because everyone goes all-out to stop the first, is definitely the usual.

11:52 PM
@ThomasMarkov I think I am ready on the astral projection thing. I really like the way you introduced your reply. My limited experiences in the astral bit was always with our party being insanely careful - the risks to those of us astrally projected was usually pretty high.
Most of this was previous edition where "sorry, you are dead" was more or less a matter of course. On the rare occasions that we got high enough level to brave the astral plane, we usually didn't want to lose the PC. So we were, well, paranoid.
The idea of the party just mucking about with BoH on the astral plane just wrankles, so I focused on "how does the astral spell work" as I was reviewing the q and Daveman's a.
